We booked Gulf Place as a studio and upon checking in and getting our room, we find that we were assigned a room smaller than a Holiday Inn Hotel room, a 3X4' balcony with no furniture, a bathroom that was large but very poorly equipped with no vanity but instead a wall hung sink and a cheesy bamboo shelf for anything you use in the bathroom...no counter space except the back of the toilet! We complained about the booking descrepancy and they didn't want to know about it. Instead we were told to call our booking agent. The "condo" room we had was old, the wooden trim around the mini fridge alcove was held onto the wall WITH VELCRO!! Whaaat??? There was a table squashed into a corner by the door with 2 folding chairs butted up against each other and these were the ones we had to jockey out onto the micro balcony if we wanted to sit. The queen bed took up most of the room and there was only one comfortable chair in the room...a wicker rocker so one of us had to use the bed if we wanted to watch TV. The trimmings (rug, bedspread) were worn and looked like they came from Grandma's house. And there was construction going on right under our window the whole time we were there with NO mention of that status on theor website. Even Holiday Inns make mention of refurbishing or maintenance taking place so one can make an informed decision. After a day or so, the clock radio alarmwent off in the vacant apt next to us and since the walls are paper thin, we were treated to a constant DIN coming through the wall ...a loud beeping. We reported it to the office and they had to put in a WORK ORDER to tuen the thing off instead of taking a whole 2 minutes to accompany us and enter and do it. Well it got turned off only to start up again that evening! By now I was ready to bust thru the wall but I called the afetr hours number and they sent a security guard who thankfully, after 3 tries got the correct lock combo from his supervisor and went into the room to turn it off..I DEMANDED he unplug it so it wouldn't start again and he assured me he did. By now I'm hating this place...it was noisy, inconvenient and showed me that they were more into the business of rela estate rather than hospitality. I will say its location to the beach was very convenient and allowed us first time panhandle visitors to get the lay of the land so we booked a different location for our second week which was HEAVENLY and made our visit all worth while. No Gulf Place, we won't be back but we sure found a wonderful place down the road much more friendly and accomodating!

We love The Perfect Pig and Pizza by the Sea at Gulf Place. Also the Artists of Gulf Place have the cutest shops. We loved making the Starfish People with one of the local artist. Really friendly people.

We stayed in a condo in the Cabana section. Nice place, with a good Gulf view, but a luxury 4 story condo is being built across the street, so the units will lose some of their view. The community is fairly small but has shops, restaurants and coffee shop. Easy beach access across street.

We stayed for a week in a condo on the 3rd floor of city center facing the gulf. It was excellent! The unit was clean, furnished with every thing you need to enjoy your trip. Free laundry was located across the hallway. Four tasty restaurants within a short walk, you don't even need to leave the community. The beach, weather and location were perfect for a week in December. This is worthy of many repeated trips back to this area.

Gulf Place features a nice combination of places to stay, eat, and shop. The artists in the middle give the community a funky flair. There is also music from time to time and special events on the green. If you are looking for a place that meets all your vacation needs, Gulf Place is great.
