A trip through St George’s Alley is not complete without a stop at Monk’s Vineyard! Warning: once you enter, it is extremely hard to leave so prepare to spend some time checking out the totally unique decor and fascinating array of fine wines and craft brews.

The proprietor is always full of interesting insights and tales of yore. You’re in good hands here and in for a treat. Make sure you sample the authentic Grog and the totally smooth local Port!!

I went to this place after 5-8 years of not being here. Great, friendly owner. The sangria is absolutely delicious. Small little bar.

My husband and I stop in to Monk's Vineyard almost every time we go downtown. To enjoy a glass of wine or a beer with the owner in a historical and whimsical atmosphere is to truly experience what the heart of St. Augustine is all about. I recall coming here as a kid when it was a restaurant and love knowing it is still here and still family owned. We even got a shirt during our most recent visit as a gift for someone. It is a fantastic centrally located wine shop perfect to get a bottle or a few during your stay or a great place for locals to gather and chat it up with Hank. This is a not to miss stop next time you are on St. George street!

Walked by here mid-afternoon and decided to check it out. The bartender (maybe the owner?) was very nice and chatted with us a while. He made some great recommendations for beer and mead. We enjoyed our choices on the little beer garden out front while we people watched.
