“Stunning house in beautiful surroundings.”
Reviewed 8 February 2016 for a stay in August 2015

We were a group of friend who went to Kurdøla to dine, wine and have some nice walks in the woods. To our amazement we found several canoes in the barn, with trolley wheels for easy transport. The lake is stunningly beautiful. There is even an old railway track crossing the property.
The house is really nice, decorated in a modern Scandinavian style but with some antiques to soften the interior. The kitchen has everything; it is the best equipped kitchen I have experienced in a rental house. There are even crystal wine glasses for fine dining in the large dining room.
In the evenings we sat around the bonfire pan having a really good time. Bring mosquito repellent.
There is only one shower room, a minor drawback. A part from that we had a marvellous time at this very idyllic place. Highly recommended. Next time we would like to go in the winter, hopefully experiencing a winter wonderland.

“Great stay in beautiful surrondings, close to Kragerø”
Reviewed 8 February 2016 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed for a full week at this place and loved every day.
The house itself is lovely and the yard and barn makes it a great place to stay. Although the animals are gone you do get the feeling of living on a fairly prosperous farm.
About the house:
The entrance is well planned with lots of pegs for coats, and floorspace for shoes and other equipment for outside use.
There is a small bathroom with a shower next to the entrance.
Further on the first floor has a spacious kitchen with a big fridge and freezer and all the equipment you need for preparing a good dinner.
Next to the kitchen is the dining room with a table who can easily fit ten persons (probably even 12). It was a great place to eat and very nice when we had dinner guests some of the evenings.
Also there is a large living room divided in two parts, but with no door between them. As we were only six people staying the living room felt a bit big for us, but I think it will be very welcoming with more people staying.
The second floor has four fair sized bedrooms. The rooms are set up for two persons, but it is no problem to set up an extra bed for a baby or put in an extra child in some of the rooms.
The big bathroom upstairs has a shower and washing machine.

The yard is beautiful and we spent most of the days outside. The children played a lot on the lawn in front of the house. We went swimming in the nice big lake behind the old railway bridge, only about 150 meters from the house..
Also we did several canoe trips on the lake, and even had an overnight stay on one of the small islets on the lake. The canoes are in the barn and it was no problem to get them to the lake as there was a trolley to put under them as you pulled them.

As for other things to do the farm is quite close to Kragerø. We had a few trips downtown and it was such a good atmosphere. An idyllic place and nice to stay for lunch or dinner.
The island "Jomfruland" is also worth a trip. You will spend the whole day on an island with no cars, great environment and nature and a good walk from one end to the other.

To summarize, the stay exceeded my expectations. It was such a well organized yet really cozy place. And absolutely great for children. They could play outside the house and it was great to be so close to the lake. The farm was a bit remote yet close to Kragerø, a perfect combination for us.
We will defininetly come back.

Liked best: That it was so close to the lake and so nice to sit and play outside in the yard with the kids. And of course the short car ride to Kragerø.
