“Beautiful Knoops Cottage”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

On arrival we were greeted by the delightful Sue & Graham, who live in the main mill building at the front of Knoops Cottage. The cottage itself is accessed, on foot, down the side of the main building & is in a beautiful setting, surrounded by trees & shielded from the large house next door by mature bamboo. The cottage itself was spacious & very comfortable, a real home-from-home, & feels very private. Sue & Graham have gone to great pains to ensure that guests have all they need to use the facilities & the attention to detail was really appreciated by us, especially the welcome items & Sue's homemade cake!! The cottage/mill is set in a very rural location, which we really liked, & we enjoyed watching the wildlife along the river that runs past the main building. The area, generally, is quiet, but the nearby town of L'Isle-en-Dodon has all the basics, supermarket, petrol, restaurants, ATM & also, as you come in from the cottage direction, a very nice public swimming pool. We used the cottage as our base for several trips out, including days in the Pyrenees, a trip over to northern Spain (Bossost), Toulouse & even a trip to the coast on at Narbonne Plage. Whilst there is a lot of driving, the surrounding areas are lovely & picturesque. Finally, Sue & Graham are the perfect hosts, always on hand to help & advise; including kindly booking a local restaurant for us, but absolutely respecting their guests privacy. A very relaxing & enjoyable 10 days & recommended. Thank you!!

We have just returned home after spending a week at Knoops Cottage. It is in a peaceful, blissful setting, surrounded by leafy shade with delightful wildlife to sit and observe.
Making the booking and any correspondence with the Owners prior to booking was first-rate, which made the process very smooth and easy.
Susan and Graham are the friendliest of hosts, who will be as unobtrusive as you want them to be, but always available if you would like any advice or information.
The Cottage really is a home from home and is well equipped. All of the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There is even a large private terrace and garden which is ideal for multi-tasking by sitting with a glass of wine whilst reading a book as the BBQ cooks!
Le Moulin de Samaran is only an hour from Toulouse airport in the heart of the French countryside. It is ideally placed to explore the surrounding villages and towns with excellent, reasonably priced, places to eat nearby. The local markets are great to visit, especially Samatan which has exceptional local produce and something for everyone.
We would not hesitate in recommending this property and hope to return again next year.
Claire and Mike
