We had a good time and the weather was great. We wanted an all inclusive in the US and this is what we found. Room was nice and clean, it was also very spacious. We had a room with a separate room inside for our boys. The drinks were good, but I wish they had pool bars. Seemed like we were always walking to the bar from the pool or beach.

Food was ok at best, but that’s what we expected so no let down... they did great dealing with our sons food allergy. The first night at dinner the major allergens were listed on glass at each buffet item. But this didn’t continue we had to find a chef to talk to at each meal.

Kids ages 7 and 9 loved sailing, SUP, ping pong, pickle ball, and the trapeze time. Lots of jellyfish is the river so we only did out of water activities. No swimming at beach. Dark water full of jellies isn’t our thing. We really wished the resort was on the ocean. We discussed this in-depth and decided for this reason only we likely won’t be back.

The pools and grounds were very nice. We enjoyed a lot of time in the main pool and the lap pool. The staff was a lot of fun we enjoyed pool games and I enjoyed aqua aerobics. The kids loved running to the bar for what they called mango smoothies.

Over all a good trip.

Dear chertayl,

Thank you for your review of Sandpiper Bay. We are really glad to see that overall you had a good stay with us and especially enjoyed the weather, accommodations, drinks, service in regards to your sons food allergy, activities, pools, resort grounds, mango smoothies for the kids and most importantly our amazing GO's and employees. We appreciate your feedback regarding pools should have bars, food quality, listing allergens at the restaurant, jellyfish in the river and resort not located on an ocean/beach. Thank you for taking the time to bring these issues to our attention. This will assist us in our endeavor to improve the product and service we provide to our guests.

It would be our pleasure to welcome you back to one of our resorts located on a beach in the near future.

Best Regards,

Your Club Med Team

This is a very family friendly place. It was a manageable size and we had a really nice view from our room. We did not do the kids club but I heard good things from people we encountered. Gabrielle in Excursions was wonderful. The woman who cleaned our room was great. There were a lot of food options but if you are vegan, there are limited choices. Dinner service started at 6:30 pm which was kind of late for us with kids etc. The adults only pool was great.

For anyone traveling domestically to Florida this is a great Family vacation option. They are very kid friendly and make a parents life relaxing and stress free. The food was very good, no major complaints, the rooms are spacious (beds are VERY comfortable) and the staff is really amazing. There are tons of activities to do at this resort and some great options off the resort as well. I would definitely recommend to any family to give this resort a shot!

Room Tip: Water View!

I had a totally amazing time staying at the club med! my favorite part was the trapeze. The circus staff were fun, nice and helpful. Larry, Curt, Ryan, and Hanna were all super cool. it was so much fun to swing on the trapeze! the rest of my stay was good to; the food was good and the room was comfortable.

Room Tip: The luxury suite were slightly nicer, but the bay view rooms really did have a nice view and the beds were comfortable in both.

We have been at Sandpiper Bay a few times before over the last 5 years, so this review is a comparison. First, the good change: room keys are now little chips attached to wrist bands. Seems like a small thing but it’s awesome. You never worry about your key, you don’t think that it may fall out in a swimming pool or on a beach or that you may leave it here or there. Great improvement.

Other changes, unfortunately, are in the opposite direction. First, wifi is bad – even the “premium” one for which you’ll pay $10 a day. Very annoying. Second, the restaurant runs out of food items, especially during breakfast. Not anything requiring cooking, mind you. They ran out of one kind of cereal or another every morning that we’ve been there. Same with pastries. Third, the restaurant staff stops setting tables about 20 minutes before the end of the meal. So if you’re having a late lunch and walk into the restaurant 20 minutes before the lunch ends, good luck finding a clean table with silverware. Fourth, rooms are getting old. Our balcony door didn’t lock; the sink didn’t drain well, and at the same time the faucet kept dripping. Finally, while the staff is generally friendly, some people serving and cleaning at the restaurant clearly do not want to be there and are not shy of letting you know that you’re getting on their nerves. I don’t recall this in our previous visits.

Nonetheless, this is still a very good option for a vacation with kids. It’s easy to get to, the food is very good, kids get endless entertainment options, there are many activities for adults, and the staff is friendly overall. So, as I said, it’s still good.
