We decided to do a quick Christmas trip to Port St. Joe, and since it wasn't exactly beach weather, decided to stay in town at the Tiki Palms. We live elsewhere on the Gulf Coast ourselves, but vacation in PSJ so our dogs can join us. The Tiki Palms has an apartment that is dog-friendly, at no extra charge for the pups. There is a very nice patio that is mostly fenced, complete with a tiki bar (bartender not included), propane fireplace, and a steel drum. Very private and relaxing. The apartment is cutely furnished but not luxurious, which was what we expected for the suite that allows dogs. There is a kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, frig, and coffeemaker in the apartment. The main house, where breakfasts were served, is a quaint, nicely decorated older home, with a modern kitchen. We were given full access to the main house as well as our apartment, and found the frig stocked with delicious sandwich fixin's and other snacks, soft drinks and bottled water. If there were leftovers from the delicious breakfasts, Debbie left them behind for us to snack on later. We have never been so well fed! There was a small TV in our apt., but a big screen in the main house was available, along with lots of DVDs to watch. There is WiFi, which worked well, and cable/satellite TV. Since it wasn't the busy season, we were allowed to check in early and check out late, so we could fit in all the activities we wanted. A very accommodating innkeeper! We have decided that staying in town is the way to go, and will do so even in beach season. It was so nice to be within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. There is also a nice multi-use path nearby for running/biking/skating. Bicycles were available for guest use. Can't wait to return!
