You get what you pay for
3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 14 Mar 2006
When you plan on staying somewhere cheaply you will get what you pay for. The Seville Inn was clean and the employees were very helpful and nice. I see all the reviews of people bashing this place, you got what you paid for. I had no choice in the matter of staying there or not but I would stay there again if I was in Pensacola on a budget. The only thing that could use improving is the restroom in the room I was in. It was outdated and lacked a rug for the floor which was gritty. But other than that the free breakfast was good and again the staff very helpful.

Staying there was great. I am a student from New Orleans and evacuated to Pensacola and spent quite a few days there. The staff and manager were very helpful. They tried to accomodate everyone the best that they could w/ so many from the Mississippi/Louisiana area. I am very thankful to them for their help during that hard time.

First of all there is so much wrong with this place. By the stairwells it smells like urine. One of the air conditioners blew up as we were loading our car. The hangers in our room had heavy dirt settled on them. The refrigerator freezer was packed with heavy ice. Garbage was behind the night stand from God only knows when. Staff was all over weight and sloppy. Rooms were dingy and they really need to remodeled badly. The best thing that could happen to this hotel is for a major hurricane to blow it off of Garden St. They make you pay before you ever even see your room, and a credit card they run immediately so a refund takes 30 days. This is one place that you dont want to stay to try to save a $ spend the extra cash and stay somewhere else. Lots of hotels in Pensacola are nasty, ask to see the room before you pay.

I can only imagine that the people who gave this hotel more than two stars must have been high when they stayed there. This was the most disappointing place I have ever stayed. My friends and I picked this hotel for it's convenience to the arena and we were quoted a good price. However, less than two weeks prior to our stay, we were all called and told that we were given the wrong rates. Some of our rates went up $10 per night, others went up $20. Interesting that a hurricane had just gone through a week earlier and demand was higher. But worse than that were the accomodations. My room had no towel racks or hangers. The bathroom floor felt oily and the tub barely drained. The room was dark and glooming so I didn't spend anymore time in it than absolutely necessary. And some of my friend's rooms were worse. I could go on and on but I don't have a week. I was registered to stay for 4 nights but checked out after 2. Since you are charged up front, I have to wait another billing cycle to get my 2 nights credited back on my credit card. I realize that Pensacola has been hit by several hurricanes but there is no evidence that there has been any money reinvested in this motel for over thirty years. It is just old and sad. Stay at your own risk.

Where to start? Room rates were not as promised when booked almost 6 months ago. Manager would not show his face. Carpet looked like the floor in an oil change shop. Mattress was like sleeping sideways in a ditch, it sunk all the way to the box springs; the air conditioner reeked of bleach...which was used to kill the mold, per the maintenance man. I didn't know it was customary to pour bleach into an air conditioning unit. It took 6 hours to get the smell out of the unit. I thought I was gonna have to sleep in the car. At any rate, at least the friendly houskeeping staff made a difference in trying to help where they could. Evidently remodeling hasn't happened yet with the rooms....will pay the difference for upscale motel next year. The front desk clerks are not friendly either. Not what I want to deal with after driving almost six hours to get to Pensacola. All I can say is "beware".

I and friends have stayed here for years while attending Springfest. The hotel employees were great, security was great! We always enjoy our stay there and are looking forward to staying there again this year. We don't stay in the room much, but for the money and convenience to the festival you can't beat it. It is not a dump!! It is an old hotel but that said it is clean and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The housekeepers are willing to help out if they can. The rooms were nice too. :)
