Upon arrival around 5pm April 1 we found many issues that needed attention before our arrival. The housekeeper had not been there in quite a while and linens were not on the beds although the spreads were. Floors were filthy when my grandson walked from the shower to the bed his feet were black, bulbs were burned out in kitchen and was dark to cook. Toilets had mold, not enough towels for 6 people, 1/2 roll of toilet paper per bathroom. Had to buy a large fry pan to cook in as teflon pots were scraped off and not usable. We purchased a wet mop and cleaning supplies just to feel comfortable. Also purchased towels, wash cloths, liquid plummer for the drains. After all was cleaned and sanitized by us we all felt much better. By the time we settled in to bed it was 2am. Looking at the log book no one had been at this unit since February and we rented it for April 1-8, 2017. If we had been aware we could have been prepared. Usually when renting on tripadvisor all the info is correct but this was definitely just a miscommunication between owner and housekeeper. It took many phone calls to the owner and housekeeper as we found other issues as time went on. Since returning we've tried to contact the owner many times with no response. We were told we would be compensated for our troubles but it is April 23 and we've not heard anything yet. After the first night we had a great vacation with our family. We are a resourceful family and can adjust although it was a shocker to find so many things that needed immediate attention. If considering renting this unit come prepared. We would rent again but will be prepared for anything next time. Resort was great, parking great, pool great, easy entrance to beach. It's always good to go to the beach.
