My 6 year old daughter and I visited this Saturday (03/10/2018). We had a blast! Lots of hands on exhibits, and she was particularly thrilled with the observatory. Unfortunately it was too cloudy to see anything in the sky, but we were able to see some Osprey nesting over the parking garage. Visits to the science center were one of my favorite things when I was her age, so it was great to be able to share this experience with her. And at only a 40 minute trip from Daytona Beach, we will definitely be getting passes, so we can be frequent visitors!

During a recent trip to Orlando my wife was spending a day shopping with her cousin so I took our two boys, aged 5 years and 18 months, to this science center and we had a good time.
The first room was filled with plastic orange 'oranges' that you had to run around collecting and sending through different machines in the room and there was also a little fenced area for my toddler. We spent a good 20 minutes in here before checking out the rest of the museum which was fun too. There was a climbing structure, giant water table, an air tube system, toddler area, dinosaurs skeletons (one of which moved), a fossil dig area, tornado machine, earthquake bridge and so much more.
The hours listed on the map are confusing though. They stated that the museum was open until 9:00 on the day we were there but then stated in the small print that it was just the observatory from 5:00-9:00. If I would have known that then we probably wouldn't have taken a supper break at 4:00 and been able to check out more of the museum. We missed most of the temporary exhibit on level two and we were planning on going back into the orange room before we left. We took our supper break at the Subway in the basement and it was probably the slowest Subway I have ever been to in my whole life. Very frustrating when you are there alone with a hungry little boy and toddler.
Overall, we enjoyed our time at the museum but wish the closing time was more clear and the Subway wasn't so excruciatingly slow. It was really slow.

Great place for the youngs. We were there in feb' 18 with two kids - 10+ 5, who had a great time. The parking place is connected with a bridge to the museum and its costs 5$ a day.

The Orlando science Centre has some excellent exhibits and hands on educational activities to do with young kids. Even the adults will learn something so though it may not be high up on your list of places to visit, if you're looking to take it easy one day or can afford the time to go then it's definitely worth it.

The dinosaur section has a really nice little area where kids can learn how archaeologists dig up bones and the physics area has some cool stuff demonstrating the power of hurricanes.

Worth a visit.

We love the Orlando Science Center. We make sure to visit every time we go to the Orlando area. The place seems to change every time we visit, so it's never boring or old. There are lots of interactive things to do and interesting exhibits - an educational and fun place to spend the afternoon!

However: this time when we were there, we had a less than stellar experience with the cashier at the front desk. She was not friendly (you'd think that would be a prerequisite for the job), and made us feel like we were interrupting her when we asked a question. Rudeness is not something you should expect from the front desk staff in this type of establishment!
