“upgrade your dining plan to table service”

Disney's Coronado Springs is meant for joggers. You walk and walk and walk to room, food, pool, bus station. This would be ok if you are not already tired from all that while at the parks. We arrived in the rain and NO ONE offered any way to get us to our room on the other side of lake while carrying luggage and kids in tow. They just give you a little map and point the way. While we stayed, we saw many golfcarts for housekeepers, groundsmen, trash pick up, but none for the guests who stay on the opposite side of El Centro (main building with only food). If you want a night snack you have to walk and walk around lake in dimly lit areas and all the way back with cold food and your refillable mug and your kid's mugs. The food is the worst part, you will get Montezuma's revenge. Don't waste your money on quick service, it is verrrrrry unorganized and the cooks do not speak English. By far the worst eating experience at Disney! Go for table service only or stay elsewhere.

Room Tip: rooms on ranchero side are too far away from food and main building for kids

Coronado Springs is the perfect place to stay while visiting Disney. This property is large, airy and has every convenience you will need to enhance your trip to Disney. Accessibility to the theme parks is provided free to their front gates and that is a real bonus. The grounds of the hotel include two swimming pools, one very large, the other moderate. There is a small playground for children and my 3 year old grandson can testify that he enjoyed the swings, sandbox and slides : perfect for little ones. The rooms are fine, nicely decorated although all we could get were too many Disney channels and quite bad reception. I was surprisingly impressed by the food on the property. The takeout had good variety and the self serve restaurant with stations offered fresh and quite good food.I had a vegetable fajito one night and an avocado and bean wrap another. There are pizza and hot dog combos but also healthier offerings as indicated by my choices. In the midst of the property is a small lake where ducks and some wildlife live. Small tables and chairs sit at the edge and many people do enjoy this ambiance. Coronado Springs is a convention centre as well. It feels very Disney-esque, a kind of preview to the parks. However, after a day at the Magic Kingdom, the wide spaces at Coronado contrasted very nicely to the very busy and packed- with-people ambiance at the Magic Kingdom. If we return to Disney with other grandchildren, we would absolutely stay here.Although the maids were very pleasant and helpful, we found it bizarre that we could not be connected immediately by telephone to the ticket sales-located in the front lobby.

Room Tip: The connecting rooms were a good bonus so that our grandchildren could sleep undisturbed. The baby...

We were so disappointed with the Coronado Springs Resort. I had to ask several times during our stay for enough clean towels, shampoo and coffee. The room was also dirty. There were silver fish in the bathroom and there were other bugs on the night stand right next to the beds. When I looked behind the night stand for an electrical outlet I found dirt and dust. My daughter and I went swimming in the “Dig Pool”. The concrete around the pool had such things as wet napkins, clumps of hair and other dirt that had us tip toeing to our chairs. While in the water we could actually see dirt floating in the water. The resort was also loud. Because all of the entrances into the rooms are from the outside and the window faces outside, while we were in the room we could hear people running by, laughing and screaming. We found sleeping in to be difficult because of the noise level. We could hear the people in the rooms on either side of ours.

The bad: NOTHING significantly good about this resort. I have been to Disney's value and luxury resorts - this was worse than value. The first day, we had the disney shaped towels on the bed, but nothing after that. We had plenty of towels, but had to ask a few times for more washcloths. The coffee maker was old and the coffee tasted like water. The refrigerator didn't work well (we had it at it's highest setting, and items were just above tepid). I plugged in my electronics behind the bedside table (like many of us do) - and my hand came away covered in dust. For the size of the resort - there were limited counter service eateries. We had a preferred room, and it just meant that we faced the lake - but since you had no balcony, it didn't do you any good.
The good: The resort grounds are beautiful. Plenty of spots to find a hideaway if you wanted. The main pool (though .5 miles from our room) is fantastic - with a hot tub, arcade, play area, water slide, volleyball, and plenty of chairs. Okay - that's it.

Save your money and go value OR the luxury was nice too (though, in my opinion, not worth it unless you plan on spending ALOT of time in your room). It is nice to not have to drive, but other than that, didn't see much benefit to staying on-site.

I would highly recommend staying at this resort. This was my first trip to Disney with my children. I booked with Beach Bums (Joanne Castner) who made my life easy by taking the time to plan everything out for us. Coronado springs was beautiful!!! The kids loved the water slides and playground area. We never waited long to be shuttled to and from the theme parks. We did the dining plan thru Disney and this is a must!!! Having 5 kids and not having to worry about the eating made it so much easier for us to enjoy are time at the parks and resort. We stayed and a junior suite it was more than accommodating. The entire grounds of the resort were so well groomed. It would be my pleasure to stay at this resort again.
