Only Disney is able to recreate an African safari. Thoroughly enjoyable but crowded. Go early in the morning if you can. The hotter the day gets, the more lazy the animals become.

Than goodness for the Rainforest Cafe. Too many people, not enough rides and it is hot!

Not as crowded as most. Well arrnaged - the safari trip was unbelievably exciting. Almost as if you were in Africa despite the cutesy operator patter.

Firstly I should qualify that we were a party comprising 2 adults and 2 teenagers (19 & 17 yo). Families with younger kids in particular may differ in opinion.

Having been to Disneyland CA, all the other 3 Disney themeparks in FL and Universal in both CA and FL, Animal Kingdom was a let down. If you are determined to visit all 4 WDW themeparks in FL, then do AK first. That way, it won't feel as much of a let down. We did it last and was disappointed. We would have preferred to spend the day revisiting one of the others.

Having said the above, AK was not without its positives. Expedeition Everest was a fun ride we could do over and over again. Lion King and Nemo shows were entertaining and they would get the kids all excited. Other than that it is not much more than a zoo. I say this without any disrespect to the highly committed staff and the tremendous work they do in relation to conservation and management of animals and so on. In fact, we were impressed to the point of making donations. Yes, please donate as the funds go towards the animals!

Even the parade, in comparison to its counterparts in Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, was lacking. If you have only three days, skip AK. If you have four days, skip it too! Spare days should go towards MK or EPCOT.

Otherwise WDW is a winner! And we will gladly go back.
