SUMMARY - This is a fairly new hotel that doesn't seem to have been discovered yet. It's very clean, sterile and nondescript. The building is located right off of highway 17 in the back of a gigantic suburban shopping plaza. We spent 2 nights there in July 2007.
Now for the breakdown.
BEDS: We had 2 queen beds that were very comfortable and clean. Rather soft for hotel beds and probably only used for a few months.
BILLING: No problems or hidden fees.
BREAKFAST: A basic continental breakfast that ended at 9:30 featuring pastries, bagels, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pre-made french toast, cereal, juice, & coffee.
CLEANING: The room was spotless sterile. Again, it's a new hotel, so that helped.
CLIMATE CONTROL: The room unit by the window kept the room cold enough for us New Yorkers in the summer Florida heat.
ELEVATORS: One medium sized elevator was located in the main lobby. There are 3 floors, it got the job done.
FRONT DESK: Check in was smooth, as was obtaining an extra room card later in the day. Check out was delayed a bit because only one person was working at the desk and she was helping another customer on the phone.
GYM: There was a small room with 3 pieces of cardio equipment on the 1st floor.
INTERNET: Wireless internet access was provided. We had no trouble using it.
LOCATION: It was a little tricky to find because "East-West Pkwy" is not very clearly labeled coming from Hwy 17. There is a just a little white sign obscured by trees. It's just past State Route 220 in the back of a large shopping plaza with a Walmart, Target, Stein Mart, Winn Dixie, Publix, a handful of banks, chain restaurants, and a smattering of various other smaller chain stores.
It's a modern suburban wasteland that's not great for sightseeing, but very convenient for tourists who forgot something at home or who need something familiar nearby.
NOISE: Our room faced a wooded lot and swamp/ditch at the back of the plaza, it was very quiet. Even the rooms in the front face the parking lot and the back of some stores so it's pretty quiet.
PARKING: Plenty of free parking provided on site.
POOL: A moderate size, fenced in pool was connected to the side of the hotel. We didn't use it but several other guests did, it seemed very clean and well kept. However, it was only open until 10pm.
RESTAURANT: None in the hotel, but every chain imaginable was located in the plaza that the hotel was in. Several other local restaurants were located nearby.
ROOM: The room was a good size, fairly new, and clean. The 3-piece bathroom was located in the front, with two queen beds to the rear. A dresser, desk, chairs, and a TV were provided.
STORE: None on site, but several department and grocery stores were in the same plaza. A vending machine was located on each floor and an ice machine was located on the 1st floor. There was no ice machine on the 2nd floor in spite of signs above the area where it should be.
SUPPLIES: Basic soap, shampoo and towels were provided.
