But first, be prepared for the drive to nowhere! It is a boring, long drive.
I am absolutely impressed by the artist's wit, talent, and prolific nature. After spending many hours at the Louvre in Paris and other prominent museums, I can honestly say that Solomon's Castle did not fail to engage and fascinate me.
Please don't leave without trying the walnut pie. It is glorious!

Went on a ladies retreat with church. This place was very interesting to say the least. Quirky but fascinating at the same time. Restaurant on site was meh. Shops were pricey in my opinion, especially for what they were selling.
It was insanely hot while we waited for the tour inside. They only allow so many in at a time. If you go in the summer, wear sunscreen. You will burn waiting. Would I go again? No but it was neat

First, bring cash, there is a ATM in the gift shop. Everything is cash. We took the castle and car museum tour. They have guides, don't think you can just wander around the museums. Restaurant has good food, eat there because there is no other place around.

Love this place and the $10 charge for the tour is worth it, I love the fact all of his art and sculptures are created from things others have thrown out. Don't miss home cooked meals at the boat in the moat also

My wife and I were looking for a relative short day trip near Tampa and ran across Solomon's Castle on a web site. We decided to go, and both kept an open mind, because we really didn't expect much.

Boy, were we wrong! What a gem. We were both completely enthralled by this eccentric home built by a genius of an artist. Every room is packed with some of the most interesting, what do I call it, junk art that completely captivated us. This guy certainly was a bit eccentric, but what a genius.

Go ahead, take a chance. Go. We also had lunch there, and it was surprisingly good, and the fellow playing acoustic guitar at lunch was a nice touch, too. Fun day trip.
