“Clean, Convenient Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2007

Stayed with a group of fellow campers over labor day weekend. The camp sites are very close together. So if you expecting a private site without close neighbors then this is not the location for you. However, if you want clean campsites, clean restroom, and convenient access to the beaches in the area then this location works. Just read the policy on pets and keeping them close, etc. and limited barking.

No kids in our group but the facilities for the playgrounds, pool, etc. seemend to be enjoyed.

My wife and I stayed in the campground in the fall of 2006. We liked our stay so much we decided to leave our RV in the park for the entire summer of 2007. We checked in the month of April and will leave in October. This campground gives you the feeling like you belong there. Its a great place to walk around with friendly folks always speaking to you. The campground is well kept, the workers are very pleasant and will check on you from time to time to see if things are going OK. The pier is in really shallow water; this makes fishing from it kind of challenging. We haven't seen very many fish caught there but, who cares anyway its always fun to try. Restaurants are not abundant but, most are very good with some of the locals being the best. You will find it very relaxing and the beach is only a stones thow away - across the bridge. The campground is located on the Intracoastal Water Way. The campground is family oriented with plenty of places to ride bikes, a pool, play area (for small children), beach area, shuffle board and a basketball court. The sites all have a patio area with picnic tables and full hook-ups (most have some shade). The bath houses are very clean and you can wash clothes in the laundry on the site. The campground store has most things you may need and there is plenty of grocery stores and a Super Walmart less than a mile away. We would recommend the campground for a nice stay along Highway 98 between Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach Florida.

We had made our reservations months in advance for one of two front spots on the site map for the park. Upon arrival we were escorted to our site (C51) which was behind a huge Class A RV (B050), almost completely blocking our view of the beach and water. You can view their map at [--]. However, the park was extremely clean, the workampers were hard working. The location of the park on a major thoroughfare had its advantages, located directly between Pensacola and Destin. Not a lot to do in Navarre but it was quiet and not over commercialized. If you are looking for action you should try Destin or Pensacola.

We definitely give Navarre Beach Campground two thumbs up (with the exception of the deceptive site map and for months we were thinking we were getting a site with a private deck, as stated on the internet , etc.). Overall we were pleased and relaxed once we left.

Also, a noteworthy restaurant located approximately quarter mile from the campground was the East Bay Crabhouse.

Stayed June 2006
