I'm currently writing this as I sit in our room wide awake since 7am on a Saturday. Not my idea of a good time.
Pros: It's a pretty hotel with a great rooftop pool. It's within walking distance of plenty of shopping, entertainment, and restaurants.
It's a safe area as my 7 year old daughter and I walked alone back to the hotel after seeing a concert at The Fillmore and never felt uncomfortable.
They did give us an upgrade at check in.
Cons: That upgrade? It included a balcony which looks and is practically in a construction site. There is currently a huge crane driving around revving its engine, then reversing while beeping, and the usual construction guy yelling.
The patio looks out to a busy street so not sure who would want to sit out there.
All night long I was constantly being woken up by what sounded like someone opening our door, but I assume was just other people going in and out of their own rooms. There is no sound proofing and I could hear people talking in the hallway even though we have a one bedroom room with a door separating the living room.
So if you need to be close to the action and are a heavy sleeper then you'll probably be okay here. If you're like me and appreciate your sleep undisturbed, stay elsewhere.More
