Initial impressions were great, lovely decor, clearly a new establishment.

Fries arrived very quickly and didn’t last long. Coffee arrived soon after, interesting, but I let that go.

Despite being reassured otherwise, our sandwiches / toasties arrived when the fries had long gone. Would like to point out that the fries were a ‘side’ and not a ‘starter’.

My chicken ‘melt’ was [stone] cold on the inside, no sign of the cheese ‘melting’, while the chicken was clearly a pre prepared deli-styled paste.

My friends toastie / sandwich was incredibly greasy on the outside, with heaps of cold continental style ham and cheese within, almost like a throw in continental breakfast you’d get when staying at a cheap hotel- but in a sandwich...

The bill came to just under $50, and my friend and I left rather frustrated.

To conclude, the staff who served us were very polite, credit to them and thank you. On the other hand, unless what I’ve described in regards to the food is the pinnacle of ‘Colombian’ cuisine, then I think you could really do a lot better.

Abuela’s has the potential to be a great eatery.

Best for the future.
