I have only recently begun to explore vegan cuisine. I have tried to excellent restaurants in Tel Aviv, and this was my third opportunity here in Miami Beach. My first impression is that this is a new venue where one must be seen. The restaurant and bar were crowded mostly with 30 somethings. Our five person table was very well situated. The staff is passionate about vegan cuisine, and suggested several options. We had several appetizers. All were tasty and I strongly suggest the mushroom chicken appetizer. Two of us had a truffle vegan burger and I had a taste - excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my Thai salad. We also shared the career kale salad, again excellent. All the wines are organic, which means the grapes were grown under non-pesticide conditions. Our bottle was excellent (see photo). Dessert was exquisite. Since I was in Miami I had to have the avocado lime pie garnished with berries. Super!!! I do not think Planta will be begging for customers. It has that ‘place to be seen’ aura about it. I strongly recommend a dinner at Planta, so reserve early.
