“What a nice surprise!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed for one night on December 30th, and it was a great way to start our pre-cruise holiday. The pool patio was a nice place to eat lunch and breakfast, the food was good and reasonably priced. It was too bad we weren't staying longer because our one-bedroom suite was fantastic. There were shops and lots of restaurants to eat within just a couple of blocks walking distance. You will definitely want to try out "LOKAL", a newly opened gourmet burger/beer restaurant about 1 1/2 blocks away on Commodore. We are already talking about coming back for a longer stay, and checking out Little Havana next time.

Room Tip: we were on the pool side of the building far from the street so it was pretty quiet

Simply lovely hotel a few mins walk from Coconut Grove. Lovely sea views. The pool area is secluded and well maintained and surrounded by tropical garden plants. Service is brilliant and the cocktails in the bar are worth every cent. Rooms are very big with lovely big balconies and well equipped.

Great location, room was big and clean but cable tv was not working, when we informed the front desk clerk, he simply stated that it was broken. Valet parking attendant was very rude. For the price you pay to stay plus the added $21 to valet, they can afford training to work on their people skills.

The travel agency told us it should be a first class hotel, all suites with a balcony which was not the fact. We consider it to be a middle class hotel. However well worth staying as the hotel is homey, the staff are responsive and service minded.

Room Tip: Not close to the parking house if you want to use the balcony. The parking house and the A/C are noi...

We stayed for a week in a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom condo with a spectacular view of Biscayne Bay, palm trees and sailboats. Great location just steps from lively Coco Walk with its many nice shops and restaurants. The valet parking is very convenient and the service overall is courteous and efficient. The pool, hot tub and grounds are lovely and quiet in spite of their close location to a very busy (and noisy at night) road. The condo itself is rather small yet very nicely appointed with comfortable beds, high end linens and 2 flat screen TV's. The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet with a safe. The unit also has a washer and dryer. The kitchen has the bare minimum utensils so don't plan on cooking anything elaborate. Atchana's restaurant off the lobby has nice Thai and western food with a limited menu. There is a great "Fresh Market" within walking distance. Our only complaint was the wifi which at best had a very low signal. The front desk was aware of the problem and said they were working on it. Overall, we would highly recommend the Mutiny Hotel.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Few destinations can boast such a distinctive and colorful character as Coconut Grove. In the heart of this tropical paradise sits The Mutiny Hotel, a luxurious all-suite property neighboring the pristine waters of Biscayne Bay. A bright swatch of coral set against the intensely blue South Florida sky, the Mutiny's 12-story tower epitomizes the South Florida style; vibrant colors compliment chic accommodations elegantly decorated in a modern-lavish motif. Long a playground for the elite, The Grove - as it is known by locals - is also a second home to many celebrities, artists, and jetsetters. Its entertainment and shopping district reflects the quirky-yet-sophisticated nature of its residents, and visitors can find everything from haute couture to haughty kitsch in the many shops at CocoWalk, steps from The Mutiny's front door. After all, where else can you see stars in broad daylight, dance through an island festival, and enjoy dinner at a funky cafe? Only at The Mutiny. ... more   less
