One the 2nd night of our Forum Meeting and Program, dinner was included at the Bay Front of Miami almost adjacent to the American Airlines arena over looking the bay. We were provided with a dinner card which was available at five different restaurants there. During the last hour or so of the floor trade show, I had chatted with a very nice Lady from Nashville and we discussed the forthcoming dinner. That early morning, I did some computer research, and my personal feelings were mostly in favor of The knife.
She had one of those do-all phones and pulled up each of the five alternatives and concurred with myself on The Knife. Well by the time she had closed her booth and computer display video offering, we headed from the Hyatt Regency Miami show floor to the provided charter motor coaches for the short drive to Bay Front.
The knife was located on the second level with excellent views overlooking the Bay and the numerous yachts and vessels.
We were immediately greeted just down the stairs from The Knife and offered easy to follow directions from their two staff members. Once inside, again the greeting was warm and sincerely friendly, and escorted to a comfortably sized table for two, which could have been used for four. The waiter explained the restaurant, the numerous and varied selections, and how our ticket would work. We could have anything (it was all buffet style), unlimited returns to the buffets, and one beverage of our choice. This could be a beer, glass of wine, or a soft drink.
We started with the varied and numerous salad selections, all of which were very tasty and enjoyable, even a stuffed meat type patty.
The completed plates were quickly removed and we were shown where we could go and make our grilled meat selections. The sliced sirloin beef was very tender and juicy with good flavor, as was a rolled and stuffed pork. The Lady had also tried (of the many selections of chicken), tried the BBQ, which she advised was excellent.
I must add that the gentlemen working the hot grills were super polite and as they handed us our filled plates advised "please come back as we have plenty more for you to select from". We finished the dinner with a Mango Cheese cake served with several fresh fruit berries. An excellent evening with good food and excellent service. As advised, the motor coaches were waiting to return to the Hyatt.
The Gaucho style of Brazilian Steakhouse has always been one of my favorites, but after looking at their menu and the prices, for someone who thanks to our economy has to be financially careful, the savings of some $20.00 per person would be most important, and they still would enjoy excellent cuisine at The Knife.
