JW Marriott Marquis Miami

We have been and continue to be big fans of the JW Marriott Marquis brand. Now and then, there may be a mild disappointment, but overall, the properties come through with flying colors.

While attending the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, we decided to stay overnight in downtown Miami and avoid the congestion of South Ocean Blvd and Collins Ave.

On the drive to the hotel, we called ahead and requested a feather-free room on an upper floor. We were rewarded with an upgrade to a corner suite (#2902), providing exceptional space (full bath with a powder room adjacent to the living room, a partitioned office space with a full size desk completed with large monitor and free Internet access, huge wall mounted plasma TV screens in bedroom and living room).

The Francis Francis Lily espresso maker in the suite is a nice touch.

The floor to ceiling windows provided abundant natural light and opportunities to observe several beautifully populated outdoor swimming pools at adjacent hotels and condominiums....nice touch.

The east facing Concierge Lounge offers pleasant breakfast views across the Port of Miami and Biscayne Bay. Three attendants were present during our morning visit and handled the stocking and restocking of the ample food choices (eggs, potatoes, several meats, French toast, cereals, assorted fruits and breads. Lily coffees were offered and upon request, a double espresso ensured a caffeine energized jump start for face a busy day.

The swimming pool and deck area as well asthe fitness center were more than adequate and appeared clean and in order during out visit.

Flavio Mello, Front Office Manger for the property, and his staff handled the check-in and check-out without a hitch.

Others have complained about promptness of valet service....we had no problems, we telephoned about 10 minutes before leaving room and our car was waiting each time we requested.

Me and my friend decided to stay at this hotel because of the good reviewsg so we booked a room here and it was on the 31st floor.I was so surprised when I walked in because it was very nice and the bathroom was by far high in cleanliness. The beds were out of this world and very clean.I have only been in Miami once and this was by far my best stay in Miami.

I stayed at the hotel during Presidential weekend. I have a mix experience as I enjoyed the good and suffered the bad and the ugly.
The hotel has a great location, the rooms are perfect and the rate that I had via Mastercard was excellent.Breakfast was very good as well as service.
The flaws were the following:
One entire day the hotel room was not cleaned. When I arrived at night to quickly changed and run to an formal engagement; Voila an unpleasant surprise, room not done. The lady forgot!
Every time that I ordered valet parking I have to wait 15-20 minutes and the parking fee was 13% of my rate, simply crazy.
Finally, when I paid my invoice they made a mistake and thanks to the fact that I carefully reviewed all of them I was not overcharged with $57.00.
I asked at checking out for a bottle of water and the reception didn't have it. An standard in hotels in its category at Brickell.
In conclusion, I have a good time but either because it was a busy weekend or because the hotel has to take care of the minor details, it was disappointing that it happens at a JWMarriott

This hotel is great. Easy check-in and the rooms are magnificent. Floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay with a huge tv and spacious bathroom. In-room espresso maker is a nice touch.
The gym is well stocked with nice views of the water. Room service is fast with a good variety of items and is actually reasonably priced (for room service).
A few hiccups: the valet parking is steep, $35/night. The all-day cafe/bar is on the second floor and without a view, do not the ideal place to grab a post mtg drink. It's about a 15 minute drive to the beach and parts of the surrounding area are, ungentrified. Great place for a business trip or a quick stay.
Overall, fantastic hotel with awesome rooms..great place for a business mtg or quick overnight stay.
