We stayed at Skretaion one night during our Pelion Coast Ride with a group of 6 people + horses. The family is welcoming everybody very warmly. The rooms look great and have see view. The village of Neoxori is beautiful. From there, you can easily explore Pelion. Breakfast was prepared with love; home made jams and fresh orange juice. Also eggs and anything else you wish.
We will be back!
A very nice stay at this beautiful "Archontiko" in Neochori, a nice village in the heart of Pelion and at a short distance of other interesting places, such as Milies and Pinakates. For Brazilians, it has a special interest since this was the house of the family of Katia de Queirós Mattoso, one of the country's most notable historians and founder of the chair of Brazilian History at the Sorbonne. You can actually see many books and memorabilia that belonged to her, which was born in nearby Volos and immigrated to Brazil as a young woman (her grandson Michalis is in charge of the place). The house was restored in excellent taste and preserves most of its traditional features as a typical big family house of the Pelion region. Rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast with local organic and home made products is a true delight. The owner and his family make you feel at home and are ready to respond to every need. A highly recommendable place in every possible aspect.
The house was maintained in its original condition, a typical "xenonas" that was built in 1841. The place has a long and interesting family story, that covers not only Greece, but Brazil and France. The result is a very high quality welcome and service to guests in at least English, French, Greek and Portuguese, an excellent organic breakfast, support and advice for hiking, scuba diving, beaches and other outdoor activities. Each room has the name of one of the famous women of the family, and you enjoy a unique experience of leaving in a place in the best preserved and less touristic part of Pileon. The only regret we have: we have to leave after 4 nights, but we will come back next year. Thank you so much Michalis and all.
