We were very pleased.
Although not new is clean and comfortable and owner was very accommodating.
It was very relaxing away from hustle and bustle.
Breakfast was all we needed .. Continental
Was easy to find and we would come back here.
The owner was very gracious and helpful about what to do and see in the area

We stayed here recently on business and it was fine. Our room was clean although a bit dated. Its a shame they never update the tub and leave the old shallow things there. There was a fridge in the room so a bonus there. The "continental" breakfast is spartan at best, cereal or toast that is the option, not a hard boiled egg or piece of fruit to be found, this can hardly be called a breakfast.
Staff were very friendly.
We made the huge mistake of ordering take out from Lumberjacks Landing, save yourself the money, find another place. They raved about their coleslaw & it was your typical gallon bucket slaw, we could not eat it, the burger was the size of a toonie, and the fries were soggy and mushy, on top of it all she didnt even include utensils for us to eat with, no ketchup, salt etc...nothing.

We used this as a stopover after L'Anse aux Meadows so we could visit Conche and its tapestry. This was convenient for that purpose and we enjoyed the opportunity for a walk along the water and the visit to Conche.
This is a typical older hotel/motel in a working town. Most of the clientele are trades people and industrial professionals who need a few nights accommodation. They all get breakfast at 7 and leave at 7:25.
We had 2 rooms, a queen in the older part of the hotel and 2 singles in the newer wing. We also looked at the efficiency units (cabins). None were particularly spacious and the bathroom design in the newer wing was strange - bath tub and toilet in one room with a sink in another - never put a toilet without a sink in the same room!
The rooms were relatively Spartan which is good because it makes it much easier to clean in a low traffic location. We appreciated that.
Beds were comfortable enough and we had a good sleep. The breakfast was a bit limited - we retrieved our cereals and fruit from our supplies to make a better than toast and coffee breakfast. Another couple we noticed who was on vacation did the same. Given the average clientele, their breakfast is fine and it is sufficient to have a table and chairs and the utensils and bowls.
