This was our first time dealing with Marco Escapes and we've never stayed at this property before. After extensive research, I decided to give Marco Escapes a try. Our family originally intended on booking a much higher end home (e.g. Decadence). However, we stumbled on this home and decided to give it a chance because it meant we could stay two weeks rather than one and still stay within our budget in the process.
The booking process was very painless. Marco Escapes walked us through the entire process and promptly answered any questions we had. When we got within a week to our stay, Marco Escapes emailed us a TON of useful information about the area. They also told us our check-in process would be completely automated using electronic locks which meant that we didn't even have to go to their offices when we arrived/left (why don't more companies do this?!).
Upon arriving at the home, light jazz was playing on the homes' speakers. There was also brand new pillows still in the wrapping (and not low end pillows... good pillows). A garage door opener and an identical booklet to what we received via email was also left on the table. In addition, the refrigerator was stocked with bottled water. Each bathroom also was stocked with face soap, body wash, and shampoo. This was very nice because it meant we didn't have to go to the store the day we arrived.
The house itself is absolutely stunning. The sculptures by Louis Vidal really make it feel like you're in a museum. Every single room has very high tray ceilings with ambient lighting. The living room directly faces the pool area and water fall which really makes it look even more impressive than it already is. Ultimately, immediately when you enter the home the LR is what you first see and its absolutely breathtaking.
The master bedroom is MASSIVE. The walk-in closet itself is likely the size of a small Manhattan apartment. There is also a balcony that overlooks the bay. I should mention, however, there is a road in between the water and the balcony but its rarely used and very quiet (as in only a couple cars a hour at peak times).
We had a lot of fun with the pool table. It could use some work on the felt but overall the condition is very good.
The pool area is where we spent most of our time. As you would expect, its like being in your own private resort. There's a bar with a high-end ice maker, a massive hot tub, pool (obviously) with a giant waterfall, and a TON of furniture. There is also a bunch of plants which make it seem like you're in a tropical oasis. Our family all agreed that this area makes the home OUTSTANDING. We've stayed at homes 4x the cost of this one and yet STRONGLY prefer this pool area over the others. There's even a bunch of geckos that roam the area which only adds to the uniqueness of the pool area. Also, this area is placed on a hill so you can't see the very quiet road below. You can even see the bay from the pool area.
The other bedrooms all have their own bathrooms and they are situated on their own private wing. It's worth noting one of the bedrooms has an INSANELY comfortable bed while the others have average mattresses. With that said, the other beds are far from uncomfortable... just nothing amazing.
The kitchen is probably the least impressive part of the house. Some of the appliances are a bit outdated and the icemaker on the refrigerator didn't work. With that said, the icemaker isn't an issue because the outside bar makes TONS of ice. Also, I'm really nitpicking here. The other appliances all worked good enough.
We did have an issue with a smoke alarm chirping at 2AM in a part of the house we couldn't get to. We contacted the rental company and within ~15min they were at the home and fixed it for us. I honestly expected the rep to be a bit annoyed, given the time, but he was more than happy to help.
Overall, the house was AMAZING and so it Marco Escapes. Our family is actually considering returning to this home when we return to Marco Island.
