Owners Mark Frangione & Karen Howe from Greenwich, CT understand what great dining is all about. Mark is a Navy Veteran and has a passion for great food and customer hospitality. Some of the dishes on the menu were inspired by his Italian upbringing; "Try Mom Frangione’s Sunday Gravy for a taste of Italia’. Proud Owners - Mark Frangione & Karen Howe The restaurant was built by Mr. Harry Seymour Kelsey the founder of Lake Park, FL in the 1920's. Kelsey had owned restaurants, bakeries and a farm and then sold his restaurant enterprise to Waldorf Hotel System. The Pelican Cafe was built in the 1930's as one of Mr. Kelsey's guest homes. A converted house. Quaint with Southern charm. Very good service. Breakfast available into the early afternoon, at least on this Saturday. I understand lunch can be had shortly after this place opens. Inside and outside seating.

I ordered a veggie omelet, which came with home fries and toast or English muffin. The food was very good. The potatoes were cooked just right and were tasty. There were containers of strawberry preserves and of blackberry preserves to be smeared on my English muffin. I prefer preserves over jellies since with jellies the first listed ingredient is some form of sugar, whereas with preserves the first listed ingredient is the fruit itself. The preserves was a nice touch by this restaurant. Another nice touch was the free homemade donut the waiter brought to me. The meal was reasonably priced. I recommend this folksy restaurant.

Absolutely loved this café. First off I have to say Summer hours start at 11, only make their homemade donuts on the weekends. We were so disappointed about the donuts the chef made us two fantastic pancakes. I had the prime steak eggs Benedict, Best I’ve ever had. Orange juice was superb and the Mexican plate was wonderful.

White table cloths and professional wait staff. Ambitious menu. Relatively broad wine list.

The braised short rib was perfectly cooked. A great Caesar salad.

But the crab cake was off and waaay too fishy. Zucchini blossoms interesting and a nice appetizer.

Tuesdays are live music night and that was a tad too loud and intrusive. The maitre d' did ask in advance if one wanted to sit close or far to the sound.

Prices a tad elevated.

Easy parking. Some outside seating under cover.

From the reservation to the dessert - simply exceptional. Karen and Mark have an incredible establishment. The service was personal and five star - from bus boys to owners - it’s evident it’s a tight knit happy crew. The food was delicious and VERY accommodating of my allergy. The setting - unexpectedly refined for the area! We loved meeting you, we had a wonderful evening - and we’ll be back!

Had a great brunch on our vacation here. Would never have thought to find a place offering an automatic Southeast Asian egg for breakfast in the Palm Beach area. The owner and his daughter made a point to make us feel special during our visit. Will definitely be back!
