“Very expensive hike”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

The cost of admission was very expensive for a nature park, and while the hike was nice, it lacked any real information about the area, and the two houses on the trail are not open to the public and are falling apart. And, the map has many other activities and locations listed for things to see, like a touch tank, but none of it was open when we went. Nice, beautiful view but not worth the price.

“Informative museum, serene walking paths, and a quality bird rehab center, all in one”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

My wife and I have been coming here since 2004 and it's great to see the volunteers and staff helping to keep the rehab center and museum in such good shape. People who complain there's nothing to see are the types that would be better served in Disney World, getting sloshed on margaritas and yelling at their unruly brats. Crane POint is a place for people who want to learn (gasp) about the history of the Keys, the ecosystem, and maybe even walk around a bit (double gasp) among the plants and wildlife. Butterflies, birds, spiders, and lizard abound. You just have to open your eyes and appreciate the natural world around you to see what a treasure Crane Point really is.

“Wonderful opportunity.”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

This little site is a diamond in the rough. Wonderful experience, but the outfit is in desperate need of money to spruce things up. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

“Tourist Trap...TOTAL ripoff!! Do NOT take kids!”
Reviewed 22 March 2012

My family and I went here for a "fun" day...but this place was absolutly NO fun at all! The place is completly run down and should be free. The website makes it sound like a great place to take kids but there was nothing for kids to do except walk and walk and walk some more to absolutly NOWHERE! There were spiders and mosquitos EVERYWHERE so go at your own risk of being eaten alive!! The "interactive" pirate ship was ridiculous and can keep a childs attention for all of 30 seconds. Pretty much all other exhibits were CLOSED the touch tank was closed, and there was a bunch of empty cages with NOTHING to see! The bird exhibit was the only thing open and the stench made my 9 year old nephew sick to his stomach. When we finally ended our "nature" walk from hell everyone was extremly hot and thirsty. They had no beverages to buy so the very very unfriendly woman who worked the desk SOLD us her personal water from her lunch box!! The whole place is a COMPLETE run down rip off. Worst experience of our vacation. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
