We spent many hours and days here with our dog. The sand at the water is mostly rocks, shoes are advised! The rest of the sand is very soft. The water is very clear. There aren't any waves unless a boat goes by. While we were swimming, we saw lots of colorful fish and two manatees!! They were only about 8 feet away from us! Crazy! We would go back for sure!

Stumbled on this little place looking for something else. Ended up staying and enjoying. It's wrapped up in the marina and could be easily overlooked. But stop by, have a beer and relax.

As we were looking for South beach at the end of Duval, we ended up at the end of Simonton and feasted our eyes on the tiniest beach I have ever seen. All chairs are for rent, so there is no spot to put your own chair or even a towel for that matter. There is a café, I am unsure of the prices though. There is hardly any swimming area, maybe about 5 feet at the most and there is also a short pier to accompany the tiny beach. I don't recommend this place.

Went to Lagerheads cafe/beach bar for a bite to eat and to look out over the water. Didn't realize this area is actually a public beach. It's about 100 feet long and had quite a bit of sea grass on shore. I thought it belonged to the bar, but apparently it's an actual public beach. Very, very small and no way to get any privacy if that's what you want. We didn't mind, since we were headed there to get a beer and put our toes in the sand. The beach area is adjacent to a marina with a lot of boat traffic and the current was quite severe due to the tide heading out. Much better choices than this one. I can only assume some of the other reviews are from people mistaking where they actually were. Doesn't even come close to sounding like the same place.

This is on the Sunset side of Key West, away from all other beaches, but it was tiny, confined, no vibe. If you want a beach go to the other side of the island, a short trip and there are better options.
