“Charming guest suite set in a lush tropical garden.”

Atlantis House is a very special hideaway. It is called a guest house, and we were truly the guests of Steve and Kayla. They were so welcoming from the day we arrived: helping with luggage, giving tips on what to see and do and where to eat; to our last evening: delivering homemade key lime pie and offering a ride to the airport.

Location, location, location. Atlantis House is just steps from the beach, the pier to watch both sunrises and sunsets, a nature preserve, even bocce ball courts. Everything else is easily accessible by bicycle, and they provide the bikes!

The Garden Suite was furnished with a bohemian flair and lovely amenities -- real Turkish bath towels, organic toiletries, and Wolfgang Puck coffee. The entrance to the suite is through the most beautiful garden, a hidden gem that rivals anything else I saw in Key West. It is lush with tropical plantings, song birds and butterflies. We sat in the garden to drink our morning coffee, and after sunset had a glass of wine in the glow of Japanese lanterns in one of the garden “rooms.”

Steve, and Kayla, our Hosts, met us when we arrived, and from that moment on we felt like we were visiting family. Our room was immaculat , well appointed and warm. Kayla prepared a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner, that we enjoyed eating in the beautiful garden.
We used the bikes that they had for guests, and enjoyed the beach and Old Town .. We would recommend this beautiful home to anyone that wants to be spoiled. We are going back in January we liked it so much.

We love staying at the Atlantis House. We stayed in the Master Suite, which was beautiful and comfortable. Kayla and Capt. Steve made us feel very welcomed and at home. We enjoyed the cookies when we arrived. The bikes were the ultimate perk of staying at the Atlantis House. We loved sight-seeing on the bikes. This was our second stay at the Atlantis House and we cannot wait to go back. Thanks Kayla and Capt. Steve. WHO DAT!!!

“Great Place”

This is a great property to stay in Key West. Steve & Kayla are superb hosts, very attentive to every need you may have. Location short bike trip to old town & very close to the few beaches on the island. They even have chairs, umbrellas, coolers & towels for your trip to the beach. Went with couple staying in other room on a dolphin trip with Steve, great trip even though the dolphins didn't cooperate too well. Had supper also at Atlantis house-well worth it!! As good as any restaurant in Key West (and we hit some of the best)-Kayla's Key Lime-unbelievable. Got the recipe on that one. Rooms are quite large by Key West standards. Plenty of space in garden room where we stayed & peeked in the large room & it's huge. By the way, ask Steve about his Arnold Schwarzenegger stories

“Key West - First Time Visit”
Reviewed 25 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

My wife and I with another couple rented a car at Miami International Airport to drive to Key West for a 3 night, 4 day stay at Atlantis House.

If you have never to driven to the Keys from Miami it is a most to do, allow for a minimum of 4 hours to enjoy the drive.

We stopped for lunch at D Hooker Sports Bar & Grill in Key Largo. It is a casual resturant expereince with great local seafood onRoute 1 heading south.

We were contacted on my cell by our hosts at Atlantis House to enquire on our progess and ETA. It was much appreciated. On arrival our hosts, Steve and Kayla invited us into their home for a welcoming beverage.

After our get acquainted we were walked to our private accomodation with our own tropical garden. The landscaping of the property is outstanding and a labor of love for our hosts.

We had rented both of the one bedroom suites available. The Garden Suite is the smaller of the two untis. Our unit, the larger of the two contained a sizeable seating area and even a stand up wet bar area with bar fridge and stools that our friends and us used for late afternoon afternoon.

Our hosts prepared our breakfast the first morning which is an additional cost ($15.00 a head). It was well woth it served outside in our private troplcal garden. The contenental breakfast was really more than that will a beautifully prepared tropical fruit tray, gourmet coffee and bagels, and a range of condiments. Our hosts also caterred to our Gluten sensitive friend.

The best part of Atlantis House is it's location in a quieter residential neighbourhood acroosss the street from the Atlantic Ocean beach. This compares with Old Town Key West which can host a couple of cruise ships and be over run by their passengers.

Our hosts offer comfortable cruising bikes to allow guest to get around Key West. Riding down South Street to the most Southern point in the US was a highlight as was a visit to Ernest Heminway's Home. Directions to both were provided by our hosts.

Our hosts also made suggestions for places to eat and drink including an Italian restaurant on the beach and walking distance from our accommodation. Also not to be missed was the Green Parrot, a Key West institution for live music.

Our three nights of accommodation went quickly, Our hosts Steve and Kayly surprised us on our last night be delivery a piece of Key Lime pie for each of us. It was home made and the best of the key lime pies we had there.

Two thumbs up.
