Excellent time and captain. The boat was very interesting in itself, the channel ride as well as dinner was great as well.

What an awesome and amazing afternoon trip. I was looking for something to do after a morning of diving and "The African Queen" happens to be my wife's favorite movie, so this trip was a no brainer. We arrived for the tour and were promptly greeted by Brian. There were only three of us on the tour so there was plenty of room and time for questions. Brian provided all sorts of information about the movie, the boat and the restoration. My wife even had the opportunity to steer the boat and cycle the steam horn. She is still talking about that afternoon. Highly recommend this trip to anyone with an interest in the movie or simply looking for a quiet trip through the Key Largo canals.

This was an awesome ride. The captain knows a LOT about the history of the African Queen and a few tidbits on the making the movie. He has old photos from the Art Director for the movie which are a neat look into the 50s and behind the scenes. They had a bit of a problem with the steam engine so I had to go later in the day than intended, but, that actually made the trip even better, considering the movie. I had absolutely no complaints about the trip. You go through the canals to the ocean for a little bit and then go back, she is not a fast boat. She does handle the chop amazingly well, so seasickness was not an issue for the short time we were on the ocean. The captain was great and answered lots of questions and knew the history of the African Queen inside and out. She leaves from the same pier as the Glass Bottom Boat so it is easy to do them back to back if you want, like I did. It was easy to imagine the African Queen making her way up and down a river in Africa. Kudos to the folks who restored her and maintain her!
