Villa 206 was great. 3 bed, 3 bath. The master is super large and spotless. The mattress is nearing the end of its life but still ok. The shower in the master needs a drain clean out as it doesn't drain and fills up. Not a huge issue and easy for maintenence to fix I imagine. The only criticism would be the third bedroom with the trundle bed was VERY HOT. The A/C doesn't seem to work well in there. If the Trundle is out you cant leave the door open to access the rest of the villa's A/C. A fan in the room would solve the problem easily. Bathroom two and three were lovely and clean. the kitchen was well supplied and a good size for a rental(who wants a giant kitchen on vacay?). The screened in porches off the master and the living room were super. we spent a great deal of time in them. The screens were excellent and looked brand new. Someone seems to have lifted or thrown out the dustpan (again easy purchase to make so not a big deal). the washer and dryer were great and top of the line. The sofa bed in the living room was very comfortable according to my daughter. I liked the gate security very much. That was a nice added touch. Again a small issue was that other guests would leave a security gate open that lead to a near by bar. This isn't the resort or owners issues, and I saw the security close the gate many times, but I didn't like that left open by other guests. My son enjoyed fishing off the small pier and even caught his dinner one night. The pools (both) are gorgeous and spotless. the temperature in each was perfect. The pool bathrooms were also spotless. The hottub near the zero edge pool was very hot (too hot for me) but the grotto hottub was cooler (still lovely). There were always enough loungers - never an issue. A few pool towels in the unit would have been nice. We ended up buying pool towels instead of using the villa towels. All in all, great value for money and we hope to return!

Room Tip: Villa 206 a 3/3 was excellent!

The property is really nice. The pool and marina are beautiful. We rented several units and some of the units were perfect shape and gorgeous. One unit 604 needs a lot of work. Several things in the unit were broken and we notified the management at mariners and they never called us back. If you have reserved 604 please make sure all the repairs and upgrades have been completed before you stay in it... all the other units we rented thru barefeet rentals and they were perfect shape. Otherwise mariners is a great place for families! PS The restaurant the Ocean Grille adjacent to the property is awesome.

Room Tip: Avoid unit # 604. It needs a lot of work and upgrades

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!!! My family of 9 rented a villa for Thanksgiving. It was a 4/4 villa. One entire bedroom had ZERO electricity!! No outlets, no lights, NOTHING! One toilet stopped flushing on our second day. One of the two living rooms had partial electricity, with the overhead light and fan system not working. Several light bulbs throughout the villa were out. The first flight of stairs had broken tiles, which was a fall risk. I called EVERY day to get someone to come out and no one ever did. I even called and left numerous voicemails on the managers phone and I GOT NO RESPONSE. I also emailed, again, no response.

We had a family reunion in Nov 2016. Four couples in four bedrooms. The Unit 607 was well suited for that occasion.

The Good Stuff

- Each bedroom has its own private bathroom
- There is a large livingroom/dining room/porch great room area that works very well for this sort of family gathering
- There is a rooftop porch (only accessible from the master suite) that was not advertised, but very nice nonetheless
- The kitchen was provisioned well enough for us
- The unit was clean and mostly well kept
- There was plenty of parking
- The unit felt very secure
- We didn't use the swimming pool, but the jacuzzi and swimming pool did not get crowded while we were there, and the jacuzzi was plenty hot, which I like in general
- The location is far enough from center Key Largo to feel like it is part of the keys and not "in town".
- The location was close enough from center Key Largo to be accessible for food, liquor, pharmacy, etc. All things American.
- The location was just 1/2 hour from Islamorada which is a great place to rent boats and dine.
- Great beach towels for travelling
- Good price point

The Bad Stuff

- One of the beds had a 3" foam mattress on a box spring. This was totally unacceptable and I would have given a full point more for this one omission. The other beds were nice and the bedding was ok.
- The front gate closes for 6 minutes about twice an hour. If you arrive just as the guard is walking away, he will not stop to let you in. He will just walk away, make his rounds and return in 6 minutes to let you in. 100% unacceptable. There were times with 5 or more cars all queued up waiting for the gate to open. Because this policy is so contentious with the guests, the guard is defensive (its not his fault it is policy) but he gave of a really bad vibe.
- There are three stories (four with the roof deck) which is fine for me, but was a bummer for my older brother. This is in the literature so no points off. Just a note.
- The roof deck had just one lounge chair. It would be nice to have at least 4 chairs up there
- The bath towels were a little bit light weight

We stayed in villa 533 for 4 nights in October. The villa is exceptional well decorated and spacious. All the rooms and spaces are oversized and lovely for a larger family visit. The grounds and pool are very large and nice. There is a decent restaurant right next door. The check in and security was a bit wonky, but it is a very private property. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: unit 533 has a great view
