This beach was a delight- clean, not crowded, comfortable and worth the drive!
The sunrise, the moon rise and it’s viewing was amazing.
To see the waves roll in, to watch the change in tides and feel the sand between my toes was the greatest sights, sounds and feel in the world.
Beautiful!

We spent a few hours here with 5 teenagers. Beautiful clean beach. Strong waves. Water was cold. Maybe not the best swimming for small children. Not crowded. Public restrooms at the parking lot. We arrived at 11 and parking was almost full. You can park on the beach with your 4WD but don’t try it with your regular minivan! We watched a guy struggle to get onto and then back off the beach for two hours!! Dogs allowed.

The beaches here are so beautiful it is hard to describe them. I am originally from central FL where it's hard to find a space to spread out a beach towel, so I was delighted at the"lack" of patrons and the size of the beach! My grandson and I had a wonderful 4 days searching for sand dollars and shark teeth--we were lucky on both finds. This little town is like a picturesque mountain town only on a beach theme-haha. My husband and I retired to the NC mountains but are seriously considering purchasing a place here as well to be able to become snowbirds just to enjoy all Amelia Island to offer.

We visited Fernandina Beach last year for one month. This year we’re back for two months. We’re talking now about returning next year for three months. This beach is pristine and a great place for swimming, sun bathing and walking our dogs, who play in the surf on leashes!

Since we rented a house on the beach we were out walking on them every day. This year we were at the north end, but wherever we've stayed they were allways wide and clean. Our favorite time is low tide. Lots of shells and neat tidal pools and run offs. Plenty of leashed dogs around and many people sitting in groups and solo watching the surf. Don't forget the surfers on the changing tides. Very nice!
