The cottage was very comfortable and quite secluded considering it's location relative to Beach Blvd in Gulfport. It's on a quiet residential street across from the Gulfport Historical Society, but set back on the property far enough that car and pedestrian traffic (although slight) is not really noticeable. The room has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay and the A/C is more than adequate for a hot summer day. Restaurants (most with music) and shops are an easy walk from the cottage. The host, Michael, is most accommodating and will gladly share his knowledge of the surrounding area. Within easy driving distance are miles and miles of beach communities with public access. Great sunsets along the coast. All in all a very enjoyable place to spend a vacation.

The entrance to the garden is natural and full of local life. The cottage appears to be new construction, custom decorated and culturally revealing. Michael was warm, welcoming and left coffee, cream and cookies to for us. Beach stuff was provided. It is a tiny walk from Downtown Gulfport, an artistic and eclectic town. The laundry room is behind the main house. We didn't want to leave. Its the kind of place where TV is an afterthought.

My fiance and I stayed here for 5 nights, and I wish we were still there! Roger and Michael were very accommodating, they have thought of everything from coffee to a detailed list with a corresponding map of all their reccommended places to check out in Gulfport. We will definitely be back to visit!

“Just The Experience We Needed!”

We rented the cottage for 13 nights. The cottage is in a laid back quiet residential neighborhood and is close to everything in Gulfport, we were one and a half block east of Beach Boulevard and right at the start of all the shops. From the start of the vibrant street scene of Beach Boulevard down to the water front, Boca Ceiga Bay, is only four blocks going south. Most of the bars are located along the waterfront. There is even a nice white sand municipal beach with volleyball courts. Gulfport has a great deal to offer. We spent much more time staying in Gulfport than we expected to since it was so convenient.

The guest cottage is right next to the owners home but we hardly ever saw them since they use the back entry off an alley way to come and go from their home. The cottage uses the paved public street parking. Their yard is a lush setting, park like even with all the trees, flowers and vegetation. There is a blue arbor over the walkway, however it is covered with beautiful flowering vegetation so you can hardly even see it. Unfortunately I am not much into plant/tree identification.

The cottage has a king size bed (we had no complaints about its comfort) a huge tiled shower and a small area for food preparation. There is no stovetop or oven but there was a microwave, toaster oven, panini maker, toaster, a coffee maker, a counter top induction burner, and a small fridge. There is one sink and mirror which is next to the kitchen area and not physically in the bathroom. There is a small tv mounted on a swing arm, a small wooden drafting table and three different styles of chairs with one of them being a small leather one that was my favorite. As other reviewers have mentioned they left us welcoming gifts: Dunkin Donuts coffee, half and half, a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon and a tin of chocolate chip cookies. There was also citronella candles for sitting on the small but inviting porch, sun screen products to get you started and even a gel for relief if you forgot to put the sun screen on. Unfortunately we had to use the gel for relief after we burned.

Overall our stay was fantastic, the accommodations were super, the owners were super and the location is the best. We have been to the greater Saint Petersburg area several times before and enjoy the area, but for us this was by far our best experience and we will definitely be back again.

Liked best: We were able to relax and enjoy without having to go outside of Gulfport
