Great location, clean staff very helpful. Have to cross busy street to get to beach. Beach chair and umbrella expensive. Walking distance to Galleria Mall with nice restaurants and to Publix food market and CVS. Would highly recommend this hotel. Away from the crowds but close enough to them to get to.

Room Tip: Ask for room above 9th floor for a great view!

Nice place, but not worth the extra cost of a "5 diamond hotel." The rooms, bathrooms, pool, and pool area are small, and the walls are paper thin (you hear EVERYTHING happening next door). The hotel service is less then average (called 4 times in 8 hours for towels - never got them). Also, the fire alarm in our room (and others) malfunctioned and went off at 7:30 am, when asked about what happened, the front desk either didn't know or pretended to not know what the noise was. When checking out, the front desk also tried to charge us for food we never ate. The sushi restaurant is overpriced and only so-so. On the positive side, the location is great - across from the beach, next to a beautiful state park, and within walking distance of restaurants and bars. As for the hotel itself - though the rooms are modern and clean, and the beds comfy - save your money, go somewhere else.

Dear GWARnachoes, thanks for sharing your comments. I'm disappointed to read that you didn't enjoy our facilities and that the service was not up to par. I've shared your feedback with our entire team and we know what we need to do to overcome these issues in the future. Thanks for rating us at the highest level for location, cleanliness and sleep quality. Not sure where you saw the reference to 5-diamond rating, but we are rated 4 diamonds with AAA and quite proud of it.

Just finishing up 4 nights at the B Ocean in Ft. Lauderdale. Very nice hotel with a great location. Close to a water taxi stop and there is a nice little neighborhood behind the hotel with a couple of nice restaurants and bars. One in particular, The Parrot, is a great local place and the owner Tim is an extremely nice guy making every customer feel welcome and special. The Birch state park across the street from the hotel is really beautiful. It's a great place to take about 1 1/2 hour brisk walk through Florida greenery, it cost us $2 per person to get in the park and was more than well worth it. We brought our beach chairs into the park and spent the afternoon sitting along the Intracoastal Waterway under palm trees watching the gorgeous boats go by on a day that was too windy on the beach. A short walk down A1A are many restaurants, shops and bars to enjoy. The hotel has a very small pool area, but we came for the beach anyway so that didn't matter. The view from our end room was stunning ... 2 panoramic windows showcasing the gorgeous ocean. The poolside bar isn't welcoming at all and the staff seems to encourage people to go to the inside bar. The rooms are nice and average sized as is the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. The staff is friendly and curteous. The housekeeping is very timely. As much as we enjoyed our stay, we probably won't be staying at the B Ocean again. The main problem is that there aren't any balconies or places to sit outside and enjoy the ocean breezes. Also, the windows cannot be opened to enjoy the breezes either. That was the only down side, but a big one for us.

Dear hc5w77, thank you for your comments. Good to hear you loved our location and stunning views and that our staff took good care of you. Sorry to hear you wouldn't return due to the windows not opening. Not something we can change but I do understand your preference.

Just stayed 4 nights at B Ocean. Staff were nice and friendly and checked us in quickly. We had booked a Stunning King room so we could have the floor to ceiling windows, but were 'upgraded' on arrival to a Curved King room. The room was nice, but we would have preferred our original room. Room was a good size, with a modern bathroom, but the shower was quite small. Bed was comfortable. There's no coffee making facilities in the room, and you don't even get a complimentary bottle of water, that will cost you $5. We had the breakfast buffet in the bistro each morning, and the food was good, but a little expensive at $16 each. As other reviews have mentioned, parking will set you back about $25 a day. The pool area is quite small, and they did run out of loungers on occasion. The hotel is across the street from the beach, on a busy intersection, so it is quite noisy and crossing the road can be challenging. The hotel is quite far north on route 1A, so it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the bulk of the other hotels and restaurants, but it does means you don't have the noise of the crowds when you want to sleep. The hotel is close to the Galleria mall and one of the stops for the water taxi. Hotel is nice, but if visiting Fort Lauderdale again I would stay at one of the hotels on the waterway.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean, but the view of the ocean is obscured by palm trees on the lower levels.

Dear nj_traveller16, thanks for taking the time to share your comments. I appreciate the top rating you gave us on service, which we work hard to achieve. I agree that the trade off to be away from the restaurant and bar scene is worth the peace and quiet at night. We are currently offering free coffee in our B'stro restaurant every morning, and plan to introduce in-room coffee makers soon.
