They have lots of really neat events here and most are free! Such a peaceful and historic place right in the middle of bustling Las Olas. I love it.

Our guide really knew a lot of history about the house, the family, and the city. She spent a lot of time with us answering all our questions and relaying interesting old stories.

Beautiful little house and location. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. It was nice learning about the beginnings of Fort Lauderdale. The tour is a bit long and might not be the greatest for kids.

If you’re in Fort Lauderdale you should TOTALLY visit the Stranahan House. It’s located in the center of downtown (Las Olas). The Stranahan’s were an amazing couple that really set the foundation for Fort Lauderdale. The staff here are so kind and passionate. Hint: ask to go on the porch during the tour. It’s the best part of the house!

Wow... the Historic Stranahan House is a jewel in Fort Lauderdale...It was the home of Fort Lauderdale Pioneers Frank and Ivy Stranahan and was built in 1901 as a trading post and is the oldest structure in Broward County. You can go by boat, car or on foot to visit this beautiful historic property and get a guided tour...Located on the water, this venue is also a perfect spot for parties, weddings and get-togethers....The Executive Director, April is a jewel along with her dedicated staff and administrators... they keep this non-profit landmark beautiful, perfect and protected... A must visit when you are in Sunny South Florida !
