This is the second review I have left for the Red Pirate. We visited the area two years ago and went to the Red Pirate and it was a wonderful experience for all! Unfortunately, I can't say the same this time around. We went on a Thursday evening because a few people in our party wanted the all you can eat crab. We instantly took a dislike to our waitress as she was a snot from the get go. We kept thinking we had done something to irritate her but we couldn't think what. They were short-handed and evidently they had a bartender not show up on the night we went. The few who ordered crab were happy overall except that they had wanted more and a couple hours into our visit, our waitress just seemed to disappear off the face of the earth so they weren't able to get more. Several of us had ordered fish, wings, etc. We also ordered salads. We didn't get the salads until after our other food came and we never did get one of the salads. Our bill was $110 and I gave the waitress a measly $10 because our really crappy service. My mother-in-law kept saying that they were so busy as if we should have felt sorry for our waitress. My main point was that I understood they were busy but our waitress didn't have to have such a totally crabby attitude. We were all in a bad mood after spending 3 hours there. We even had to take our bill into the main building to pay because we couldn't seem to find our waitress. I don't leave negative reviews for places often, but this one was unavoidable. We know this place can be great, because we experienced it as being great once. We were just sad that our great first experience didn't extend to our second visit.

Decent food at a okay price. The place looks old and thrown together but the food is better than the looks.

We always have a great time eating here and we let the kids play mini golf afterwards. The food is great and the seafood is the freshest you could find anywhere. All you can eat specials (crab legs) begin in March. Great food and great service.
The mini golf area is very run down and needs some maintenance but other than that everything was fantastic!
Family friendly.

Had dinner as a couple just out of curiosity after driving by a couple times. The place is really old - probably left in this manner by someone's thinking the appearance is a plus - and maybe it works - seemed that most folks on this busy night were locals. The food was very good over all - ample servings and had some left over to take home which is rare. Price was high for their Captain Jacks Platter and the Shrimp Platter meal but the meals were top of the menu. Service was pretty good by very busy waitress. Food served very hot. Utensils consisted solely of a flatware fork - but at least it wasn't plastic. Napkins were from roll of paper towels. The did serve real butter which is a good indicator of quality mentality.

We have had a couple of meals at the Red Pirate, and they have been mixed quality. My husband had broiled shrimp the other day, and they did not seem as fresh as shrimp that we have had other places. Salad was a little skimpy, and all and all the meal was meh.
