They served chicken nuggets as hard as rocks to my two small children. When I brought it to the waitress she acted like it was no big deal. They couldn't even bite into them.

I have to assume the majority of these positive reviews are coming from locals or people who live out in the wilderness of this area of Florida, and have never been to many other Mexican restaurants before.
We visited this restaurant on our way back from a 4-hour kayaking trip at Manatee Springs. We were starving, so literally it wouldn’t have taken much to impress us.
This place, however, was severely lacking. Service is lackadaisical. Chips and salsa were disappointing (salsa very, very watery). We ordered spinach and cheese dip and it tasted like plasticy “melt your own” cheese with full leaves of spinach thrown in.
I had shrimp fajitas and my husband had the vegetarian quesadillas. Very little seasoning or spice (flavor). Shrimp overcooked. Refried beans were dry and crusted as though they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for a while.
The place is shoddy, but we always give hole-in-the-walls a chance because you can find the best food that way. That said, this place isn’t one of them. And the bits of tomato all over the floor were not charming. The owner even argued with a customer picking up food over giving her a tiny little cup of salsa to go with her chips.
Give it a pass. We drove up from Tampa, so yeah, we are spoiled with a lot of choice. That said, we make Mexican at home a lot, it’s not hard to get right. It’s sad when we leave saying we should have went just next door to Taco Bell (which, even though ew, would have been better).

Always go here for family gatherings! Love their tacos! Not many places do it from scratch! Go here if you are ever in chiefland!

Chile rellenos should have meat in them, not just sauce and cheese. First restaurant I have gone into that did not. Sure miss the old Mexican restaurant we use to have in town.
