Description: Coming to you from Federal Hill Providence, Rhode Island; Jamie Barlow brings with her Authentic Italian and Mexican cooking using only the finest ingredients. Chef Barlow earned her double bachelors degree in Culinary and Hospitality from the Official Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island. Chef Barlow continued her education in Belgium, Europe while attending a school for Hospitality and Tourism, studying under italian chefs. With over 25+ years experience, Chef Barlow has created an extensive catering menu in which we can accommodate intimate dinners for two, or large parties of up to 3,000. Although originally meaning to be a catering only establishment, popular demand caused Chef Barlow to open her doors to the public and began serving dinner. Five years later, we have La Stella staff, past employees, and especially our customers to thank for our success. We are grateful for your loyalty. La Stella's has specialized in serving Authentic Mexican for lunch during the week and Authentic Italian every night for dinner. Using only the finest ingredients and hand selected meats, Chef Barlow has a focus on using mostly, if not all, organic ingredients. Containing 10 tables maximum indoors, La Stellas remains to be an intimate, neighborhood gem

La Stella's is a very attractive, very small restaurant that has a family-run feel to it. There are a small number of tables inside and out and the food is of the southern Italian variety. The mixed antipasto platter was excellent and generous. Three pasta dishes were also very good indeed (spaghetti carbonara and with seafood, and Sunday gravy), as was a grilled fish dish. Six of us enjoyed everything about our meal.

Cute but tiny restaurant. Make sure you get a reservation as there are perhaps 10 tables inside. Server was very busy, all tables were full. Started with Caesar salad that was very good, nice dressing. Entrees were a baked chicken, which was good. The pesto gnocchi with sundried tomatoes was fantastic. The gnocchi was home made and delicious.

The wine was great. The bread was awful. Clams were fresh but overcooked to the point that they were rubbery to chew. The eggplant parm was very unusual but it an excellent way. It was piled about 8 inches tall, much of which was fresh cheese in between many layers of eggplant. Service was ok but not great. Caesar salad was good but lacked anchovies, which were not available even on request. This is a VERY small restaurant so the tables are crammed together, making it VERY loud - not with music, but with everyone talking and trying to be heard over everyone else. There is some outside seating but it is very close to the street, with is very heavy with traffic there.

We went back AGAIN....this time we added the scallops to our usual order of Calamari and flatbread. Perfection - as always.

This was a very good restaurant with attentive and knowledgable wait staff. Our food was great, olive oil on the table with the focaccia bread was delish. I especially liked the Caesar salad. The draw back is the tables are so close together you can hear everyone's conversation. We were lucky we sat outside but even then we had 3 adults and 4 crying kids next to us - it was hard to have a conversation. The rudeness of the customers was not the fault of the restaurant but the placement of the tables was. That being said - I would try this restaurant again. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant.
