We enjoyed our stay at the Boca Grande Club. The beach is perfect. It is so private, we felt like we were the only ones on the island. There are tons of shells and sand dollars. If you enjoy diving for shark teeth, there are plenty of those to be found, also. The Club has a beautiful pool with a tiki bar that serves drinks and lunch. No complaints about the serenity and beauty of this place. However, our condo was not the best part of our trip. First of all, we arrived and were put in the wrong condo. With no elevators, moving into an upstairs condo (three flights of steps) was difficult. Then we moved again to another upstairs condo, because the complex offered us a larger condo since the one we rented was no longer available. The new condo seemed fine, until we realized there were ants in the kitchen and fleas in the condo. The other downside is that we were given a condo above one that was being renovated. There were no naps taken because of the saws that were going nonstop below us all day long. We also had to walk between two dumpsters and a port-o-potty to get to our car each day. We were very disappointed in the location of this condo and also the fact that it had ants and fleas. The complex did not come and treat for the ants when we called, (they said they would call housekeeping), so we never even complained about the fleas. I would say we were very disappointed with the rental situation, however the island and its beauty made up for it. We also enjoyed the pool and tiki bar quite a bit. The food and drinks were wonderful. Be sure you ask when you reserve a condo about the tiki bar and restaurant being open. We were there four days before either one opened because it was October, but no one in the rental services explained any of this to us. We had expected to arrive to find a tiki bar and a restaurant on the premesis, and never thought to ask if they were open.

Room Tip: Lower level condos don't have the best view, but second level have three flights of stairs with no elevators. Just be prepared for that.

Boca Grande Club was perfect for our family. We stayed in a 2/2/loft right by the pool and clubhouse. Great location with easy beach access. Our unit was nicely updated and extremely clean. The owner had many, many extras to make the stay more comfortable.
Nice enclosed porch with a full view all the way down the beach in both directions.

The property has golf cart rentals which were fun and you can drive them all the way to town on a path that runs the length of the island.

If you want an active hopping beach, this is not the place for you. If you want a beach that most likely still looks the way it did 100 years ago, then this is it. It is undeveloped and unspoiled. There are no buildings over 3 stories and none are set too close to the beach. My children (12 & 16) thought they would be bored but they thoroughly enjoyed finding tons of shells on the beach and sand dollars by the handfull out on the sandbar. Turtles were laying eggs nightly but we never got to see them because there are strict rules about not being on the beach at night with flashlights.

We would definately recommend Boca Grande Club.

Room Tip: This is a huge property so it depends on what you like. Families might like being closer to the pool.

We rented a house overlooking the beach and was not disappointed. Clean and comfortable with all usual necessities. We had a very relaxing week. The complex was quiet as we deliberately aimed for just before peak time so had pools etc. to ourselves mostly. We liked the village with good eating spots. Get your supplies off island before you arrive. Overall a great place to stay and would come back again. Has to be one of the best in SW Florida.

In a word, paradise. This place is fantastic. We were looking for a place to stay that would be clean, comfortable, and with good fishing. We got it all. It is private, secure, and exclusive. Every employee we encountered was pleasant and profesional. They were very accomodating. Unfortunately, there was an awful red tide going on during our stay and some nasty storms which forced us to take the family "off island", but no big deal. The unit we stayed in was very well appointed and felt just like home. We tend to be more on the germaphobic side and this unit seemed very clean and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful with a huge herb garden for guests to use, a playground that was fun for the parents as well, a basketball court that kept the little ones in mind with a net that was closer to the ground for them to reach, a lovely beach with amazing shelling opportunities, and a wonderful pool area with a small pool for kids. There is a $5 charge to get onto the island, but if you plan it right and get all your groceries beforehand you don't have to leave at all. There is a small grocery store on the island, but it is quite expensive. The best way to explore the island is to rent a golf cart. They are available on and off the island. Fishing is best if you rent or charter a boat, but there is a pier and surf fishing is good too. The southern tip is a must see. This is where the lighthouse is, but not reccomended for swimming. Overall, this place was exactly what we have been looking for and we are already planning our next visit.

Room Tip: We stayed on a lower floor unit which has a great view, but not of the water's edge. Upstairs probably affords a better view, but access to the beach is not as easy.

Unit was nice, but with no outside patio as expected. Beach was strewn with dead and dying seaweed which was not too appetizing. We were told cleaning the beach was prohibited because of turtle nests which we did not see nary a one. It was a pain getting umbrellas and chairs set out for us on the beach every morning. The ocean itself was wonderful. The pool area was nice, but blazing hot as to be anticipated in June. We found Millers to be the best place to eat in town for value and quality of food.
