Owner description: Strike Zone Charters has been happily serving Looe Key Reef divers and snorkelers for over 30 years. Within the past year, we have added this to Captain Hook’s dive operation for some very obvious reasons. This shop serviced a very dedicated customer base that loves the ocean and all it stands for…people with a passion for the ocean just like us. It’s main focus was to show the world the beauty and wonder of this location…in particular, Looe Key Reef, which is an exceptional dive and snorkel location. We, at Captain Hook’s are proud to be the new owners and are thankful to Larry, Mary and Gayle for the opportunity and all the help that came with it. Our new name is Capt. Hook's Looe Key Reef Adventures & Strike Zone Charters. We embrace the past as we look to the future of providing excellent service to the divers and snorkelers of the Middle and Lower Keys. We are a full-service dive shop and have just recently added the ability to perform Hydrostatic Pressure Test on tanks!

We booked the afternoon snorkel trip to Looe Key and from the moment we walked in it was a wonderful customer experience. Very organized and professional. Boat was clean, equipment was in great shape, and they had everything we needed for a great day on the reef. We saw so much beautiful marine life – goliath groupers, sharks, reef fish, and a barracuda.
Do not hesitate to book with strike zone.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It is always great to hear good things from our customers and we are glad you were happy with your trip. I apologize for taking some time to respond. We are settling in after the hurricane. It was a bit of a surprise for us after acquiring the business in July timeframe and then having such a devastating weather event but we are all good now. We really appreciate the business and as always, we want you back! Thank you for the recommendation.

Super spot. Staff was friendly & accommodating. We were looking to snorkel the reef right after a cold snap hit (I'm a cold wimp) & I was able to pick up a hood and gloves to add to my very thick wetsuit which made it possible for me to get in and have a great snorkel! Can't thank them enough!

Wade...sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the kind words. Mini-season is always a challenge for us and for this year especially so because of the new volume we acquired. We try our best. My brother anchored the effort with family and staff and they got it done. We have since added the ability and are certified to do Hydros and of course VIPs. Thank for using us. Be sure you come back to see us soon. Thank you again.

After regrouping from a snorkeling trip that was cancelled by another outfit, we stopped into Strike Zone and they were able to get us out on an afternoon trip. Every part of this trip went perfectly, and Capt Jeff and his crew did a great job of managing a boat full of snorkels and divers. The boat was large, stable and safe and got us out to Looe Key in a reasonable amount of time. We had most of our own equipment, but the few things we needed to rent were in good condition. As one reviewer mentioned, there are lots of people on the boat, and they do ask you to stay in a designated area, but I never felt crowded or that it scared away fish. There were probably one hundred boats there that day, so I'm not sure it would have mattered. My family saw TONS of fish, 3 sharks, barracuda, many parrot fish, angles, file fish, etc, etc...some of the other snorkels saw a large Goliath grouper. Overall, a great trip, a great crew, and great memories. About the only thing to watch out for was Capt Jeffs jokes....;)

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sorry, it has taking me this long to respond. I think it gives a good overview for people reading it. Looe Key Reef is such a nice place to dive and snorkel with lots to see and we are glad you had the opportunity to see a lot of different species of marine life. After reading your review, I put down on my list..."Get Capt. Jeff a new Joke Book! Please find a way to come see us again soon. Thank you, again.

We are experienced snorkelers and would not recommend this trip unless you've never been snorkeling. The boat had about 30 people on it and the trip very much had a "herding cattle" feel to it. Once you are in the water, you are confined to a small area. If you stray beyond that, they are calling you back. I understand that they are responsible to keeping any eye on all those people, but having that many people in a small area scares away a lot of the fish. However, if you were new to snorkeling, this might be the route to go. You will be in the water with lots of other people and there is safety in numbers. The staff will also be monitoring you very closely from the boat. We just didn't care for the crowd. Smaller charters are more expensive, but worth it if you have the experience and can afford it.
