My boyfriend and I came from NJ for a long weekend and to play some tennis. We were there right before Memorial Day weekend so the season hadn't started yet, but we got lucky because it was unseasonably warm, so it felt like summer but without the crowds.
This condo is a 3 minute walk to the tennis center and just about the same length walk to the Marketplace. We took two tennis clinics each day, which were good. However, we were surprised that we didn't meet tennis players at our level (USTA 3.5) to arrange matches with later on in the day. One day we asked the tennis center to set up a match for us and a tennis center employee and his friend played with us, which was a nice game.
The walk to the center of town Bethany Beach is a nice walk - probably about 20 - 30 minutes. We didn't spend much time at the Boardwalk, but there are a lot of ice cream places, candy stores, snack kind of foods, and shops.
As a vegetarian, I had trouble finding options at the restaurants, which, not surprisingly, are seafood-centric. Had I stayed there longer, I would have had to resort to calling some restaurants and asking if they could do something off-the-menu for me.
There are a few restaurants in easy walking distance (the Marketplace or adjacent). We liked the option of driving someplace for dinner and then coming back home, parking the car, and walking to a local restaurant for a few drinks before walking back to the condo at the end of the night.
The condo itself is comfortable and furnished well enough, if a little dated in style. The kitchen is very small so if you plan to do a lot of cooking (we didn't), keep that in mind. There is a nice back patio with beautiful flowers that get watered every day with a high-tech mechanism. The patio isn't cleaned by the cleaning crew, so when we were there, everything was covered in a thick layer of pollen. But it was nice and quiet and there's an umbrella for shade and comfortable loungers.
There is WiFi (look for the note on the refrigerator door for the passcode). I couldn't figure out how to use the TVs because they came with an array of remote controls - some directions for that would be helpful. Also, the TV in the bedroom is next to the bed, so if you're used to watching TV in bed, this wasn't an optimal set up.
When you check-in, there's information at the office for local restaurants and grocery stores, etc. We were only there 3 days and didn't cook there, so we didn't have to buy or bring much with us to supply the condo.
The condo was quiet, comfortable and conveniently located. Our only disappointment was that there wasn't more robust tennis. Probably if you come during the summer, there are more tennis players, but the trade-off is the crowds and higher prices. All in all, I would definitely come back again and recommend this to others.
