Cunda Battalos Kucuk Hotel is a rare bird, a hotel to return to again and again, and that's unusual for me who likes variety, but given its favorable location, blossoming grounds, and thoughtfully decorated interior, I hope to spend more time there in the future. The staff treated us like we were family and the Turkish village-style breakfast was fresh, plentiful and of course delicious.

The hotel is located on the edge of Cunda's main town, so you have the best of both worlds. Peace and quiet, and a very short walk (literally 5 mins) into Cunda if you fancy something a bit more lively. On the evenings we didn't go into Cunda for a meal and a drink, we ate in the hotel itself and dinner, like breakfast, was full of flavour not to mention inexpensive.

The garden is an inspiration and it's clear they've spent a lot of hard work to design it and spend a lot of time to ensure it remains a delight for guests. During the evening, as the sun sets, the aromas lifting from the flowers is gorgeous.

We had lovely room on the first floor, and is rustic in its arrangement, for example, Greek-style pots (stamnoi or chytrai?) are embedded into the wall and onto which a pane of glass is laid to make a bedside table; from the balcony we could see the Aegean and to the left the Koç renovated Taxiarches Chruch (now a museum) and the renovated Agios Yannis Church (now The Sevim - Necdet Kent Library).

I plan to return in September.

Room Tip: First floor facing the sea

We travel a lot. It is rare that any hotel or guest house gets everything right. The Battalos hotel did just that.
From the moment we turned when we had staff coming out to the car to greet us to the moment we left when the same happened this was a friendly, efficient and well run small family hotel.
The room we had was a delight. Very tidy and well appointed it had a small balcony and a partial sea view. There is a very nice downstairs seating area and the wifi is fast and good.
Breakfast is a challenge! We come to Turkey twice a year and have had many Turkish breakfasts but this was the best. Beautifully presented it was high on quality and even higher on quantity. To cap it all it was cooked and served by two delightful ladies who spoke no English but which mattered not one jot.
Reception was staffed by a most pleasant and helpful guy with excellent English who could not do enough to help.
We loved the hotel and the area and there is a brilliant 10km walk round and across the island that one can join 200 metres from the front door.
Best of all this is a hotel that really "gets" customer service and does it in an understated and friendly but immensely efficient way.
Could not recommend more highly!

This place is set around an olive grove approx 15 min walk to the harbour and restaurants. It's a very layed back atmosphere and if you just want to relax, read a book and not be disturbed then this is the place the stay. The hosts are very friendly with very limited English (we got by using Google translator) which was fine. Breakfast was lovely and fresh. Our room had a fabulous view of the town and harbour, it was very spacious including three bathroom and there very afew nice things in the room like magazines and a torch for the evening walks.

Room Tip: Wifi signal was weak in the room, but strong in the main room

This boutique hotel is perfect!
We travel regularly and feel that perfect is the right word for this place. Cunda is a beautiful island and Battalos Hotel and makes it even better. We plan to return för a longer stay.
