By and far Murasaki has the best sushi hands down! It is always fresh and served with a smile. The food on the menu is delicious. They always come up with new and delicious rolls. The owners are friendly and eager to please their customers. The restaurant is small so make a reservation or come early.

I picked up some takeout sushi and it never disappoints. Murasaki has some of the best sushi in the area. Would be great if they offered more of a unique variety though. Even so, what they do offer, always hits the spot!

I met up with a colleague. Neither of us likes raw food, but we like trying new places.

Ample seating and easy to carry on a work conversation. Service may be slow if you arrive too early (but we had time). Good hot green tea, several lunch specials.

I had the bbq eel, another place that serves it very tasty. My colleague had vegetable tempura. Definitely a place to return because of the variety of (cooked) lunch specials.

I would still recommend the place for sushi and sashimi lovers.

I've been a proud patron of Murasaki for several years, and can honestly say that the staff go above and beyond in catering to their guests. Most sushi establishments simply advertise what rolls they have available that day, collecting your "sushi card," and subsequently leaving. Murasaki does no such thing. What many people don't understand is that there's a difference between a sushi joint and a Japanese restaurant. Although Murasaki may offer finely prepared sushi rolls, it's also a full-service restaurant. This means that they offer phenomenally crafted ethnic appetizers, paired with delicious imported wines that you don't see at other sushi places.

Murasaki has easily become my favorite Japanese restaurant! Located in West Hartford center it offers amazingly fresh sushi and sashimi along with a wide variety of delicious Japanese dishes. While I always love to get a tuna roll or sashimi my favorite dish has become the nabeyaki soup. Similar to a ramen it offers thick noodles in a delicious broth and should not be missed!
The restaurant itself is tiny with less than 15 tables. Has a very cozy and authentic feel. The service is more relaxed than other restaurants so it can take a little longer to be served but it is more than worth it and never too long that you would think about leaving.
