After helping my daughter move to West Hartford, we went to an early supper with her, and she chose Grant's. The interior is very attractive, and we were seated immediately by a courteous hostess. My husband ordered oysters as an appetizer and they were very fresh. My daughter and husband had a glass of wine each. My daughter had the pork chop while my husband had the swordfish. They loved their selections and felt everything was well executed. I decided that I wanted an Allergash white with their Grilled cheese burger. Unfortunately, the cheese was almost non-existent and the burger was overdone, but the roll was fresh and the fries were hot. Again, my daughter and husband had dessert, chocolate mousse with a cookie and an espresso which they loved. The waitress was polite, but her demeanor was not warm and friendly. You see my husband and I were still dressed in the rumpled clothes we used to help my daughter move into her new place while she had changed. I joked that the waitress acted as if my daughter were treating a homeless couple to dinner, but really I would advise not to enter that restaurant in overly casual attire as we did due to circumstance.
