If you're looking for a restful night in a nice quiet hotel, keep looking.
When we checked in, the beds were made, and the room appeared to be all set. Then I went into the bathroom, where I found the usual towels and little shampoo bottles, and the urine spatter left by the previous guest. I recommend that they go to a doctor to see if they can be checked for diabetes. Maybe they were just dehydrated.
We spoke to the front desk, and asked for a manager. She was unavailable, and the desk clerk seemed to not be able to do much, so we’ll be escalating our complaints to the General Manager, as well as HIE corporate offices.
You can be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the traffic outside, and the slamming doors inside. You wake up to the soothing tones of the neighbors on either side and above and below you. The wooden frame of the building transmits sounds pretty clearly all night, and you can hear the floors creaking in the hall outside your room.
We've stayed in HIE properties nationwide, both for business and pleasure, and this property does not stand up to the usual excellence we've seen. If we did not have an event on the evening of check-in, we would have found another place to stay. On checking the next day, there were no other acceptable rooms in the area.
