After having a wonderful dinner at La Foresta restaurant in Killingworth with our VIP Wine Members, John & Helen were kind enough to invite us to their afternoon of wine tasting / dinner. Sharpe Hill was 1 1/2 drive but well worth it. We did a 14 glass tasting and then went upstairs for dinner. Dinner was excellent. Food was delicious and the service was top notch. After dinner we all went for a walk to the top of the vineyard to enjoy the beautiful view. We really had a great time and will definitely be going back to Sharpe hill.

It is slowly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Located in a winery with an outdoor sitting surrounded by herbs, flowers and just serenity, it seems that the place has been frozen in time in the new nineteenth century. Quintessential New England, from the barn to the restaurant's decorum with a central fireplace and the old kitschy China exposed around, you will love the peace that surrounds you. Instead of starting your experience at the bar( they don't have one) , you can have a wine tasting and be surprised by some of actually decent selections. But the meal itself is a great culinary experience. A rather small menu ( just love it when the chef concentrates on very few items) but very well balanced as far as choices, you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. I may suggest the smoked trout as an appetizer and of course everybody's favorite, the creole gulf shrimps. And always keep some room for desert. ( the chocolate cake is out of this world, especially if you wash it down with a glass of their port wine ).

We were traveling on the scenic highway 169 and had read about the vineyard, so decided to stop by. Thank heavens we had GPS or we never ever would have found it. We live in wine country in Oregon, so we are used to having vineyards around. It's interesting that there were no road signs directing people to the vineyard. But I guess they don't need to bring people in. We were there for the tasting, which is reasonably priced at $10 for 6 wines. The wines were very good and reasonably priced. Some people came in after and asked about eating and were sort of laughed at because, of course they should have made reservations "months ahead." I'm happy that they are that successful, but it seemed a little snobby. I know that it can be difficult to work with family, but the adult mother-daughter at the reception area need to rethink if that's where they want to be. Mom was barking orders and telling the daughter she was doing everything wrong, while the daughter seemed to be trying hard to keep the place together. It was good, but I'm not sure I would tell anyone to go out of their way to visit.

A great little vineyard with a surprisingly wonderful selection of wines from Riesling to Cabernet and many in between. A tasting of 13 wines was 15$ with the signature wine glass included! You can buy a little box of cheese and fruit and sit out and enjoy the view. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the tasting room cleverly decorated with architectural salvage items and antiques. Lunch and dinner is served in the Bistro. I definitely want to try it. Such a lovely place to kick back a bit. We plan. To return soon.

Whenver in the area we make a point to visit this beautiful vineyard.. On this rainy day the grounds were not available but we were able to sit in the lounge area for our tasting. We chose the half tasting (6for $10 or full 13 for $15) The wines were very good i especially enjoyed the Red Seraph. The two people pouring for us were both pleasant tho their knowledge was very generic and at one time contradicting each other on source of grapes. We will return tho since the wines and atmosphere especially when grounds are available win out
