Description: Rustic Adirondack Bar & Grill. The Bear & Grill offers a casual American menu with regional specials, with most items including desserts and breads made fresh daily.Decor and ambiance is fun and casual. It evokes images of a bygone era of the great camps and lodges of the Adirondacks, complete with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, split logs and twigs, massive antler chandeliers, camping memorabilia, and our own Log Cabin bar.

My wife had mentioned the signs for "Lobster Fest" at Bear and Grill so we decided to go. We had been to the restaurant a few times and had a very good experience. How ever this Saturday with lobster on our mind we went. We arrive at the restaurant at 7:00 P.M. and was told it would be a few minutes. We where finally taken to our table in a virtually empty dining room. Our waiter showed up gave us our menus and asked if we would like a cocktail which we said yes to. About a half hour later the drinks arrived. Our waiter asked if we were ready to order so we asked about the Lobster Fest. He smiled and told us "That was over 2 weeks ago and that they where out of lobster any way. So we said we would just order from the menu. We selected our appetizers but where told they where out of those items we chose from the appetizer section, then we ordered our entree and where also told the Items we wanted where also out. Several other diners had also placed orders but left after waiting a prolonged time and food still not arriving. All in all this was not an enjoyable dining experience. We will not be back. W.J. Horrible bar service. Came here on Friday January 22, 2016 at 8pm. Very few people in the restaurant. It give a very "we will be out of business soon" vibe. We sat ourselves at the bar. The waiter took a long time to pay us any attention even though there were only 4 other people seated. When we asked for a drink/beer list he just said "no". He didn't offer any suggestions or ask us what we were looking for. There seemed to be a band over to the side setting up or taking down. It was hard to tell since the equipment was there but they weren't doing anything for the whole 30 minutes we were there. The decor was just a bit dated. The Christmas lights strung around the bar were dusty and had cobwebs dangling. There was an old fish tank in the entrance like your see in an old Chinese takeout restaurant. And there were paper Jimmy Fund cardboard quarter collectors around the fire place. The back restaurant area was closed off and it just seemed like they closed it so they didn't have to have staff working back there. I'd say this place needs a change of scenery soon or it's going to be another that bites the dust.

I have eaten at the Fairfield Bear and Grill many times. This was the first time in Orange CT. We ate on a Sunday about 2pm for a late lunch. There was plenty of seating and parking. The salad we had was outstanding and I would have it again. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would eat here again. It is located near shopping and is a great place to rest, have a meal and shop.

I made a reservation for Friday night at 5:30pm thinking it was going to be Happy Hour busy, but there was hardly anyone there and we had no reason to make a reservation. With that, it was nice not to fight over the din to have yourself heard when conversing. The three of us had three different type of salads and they were all very good. Everything was fresh and crisp. The chicken, salmon and shrimp toppings were all exceptional. Our waitress was very personable, courteous and on top of things. Overall it was a nice evening, good food and a pleasant experience.

The service was very good as was the food! The atmosphere was like being in a mountain lodge. The music and extraneous noise was at a comfortable level. The food was very good and well presented as was desert which is made on the premises. We will visit again.
