Luigi's is homey and old-fashioned in a good way. The staff are pleasant, the décor is rustic, and the food is traditional Italian fare. This is a restaurant that doesn't try to be too much, staying true to its roots as a family place. The food is good, but not great, and there is plenty of it. Prices are reasonable. The lighting is poor, and the dark wood and furnishings make the whole place dark, but not in a romantic way.
If you like traditional Italian food made competently, then you will enjoy Luigi's.
