Daughter enjoys Willoughby's Burundi Blend so Kit and I stopped in to select some coffees as hospitality thankyous to our daughter for our visit in mid-december. Lily was friendly, knowledgeable and was efficient in bagging our beans. Sumatran French Roast and plain Sumatran along with the Mocha Java Style were doubled up - one for us and one for the kid. Each bean has its qualities and the french roast has a sharper taste that fits my morning preference for a cup of good coffee. The Mocha is smooth and satisfying. The Sumatran is pleasant on the palate, too. Well worth a stop to enjoy a cup there as well as to bring a bulk order home for a daily shot of goodness.

We were passing through town and decided to stop for coffee. We spotted Willoughby's Coffee and Tea on the corner. It was frairly crowded with college students. We decided on regular coffee and both added cream and sugar. The place is clean and tide - good for soaking up the local vibe. The coffee was dissappointing and a bit bitter. We aordered pastries that were fresh and unremarkable. If you happen to be on Church Street stop in for coffee otherwise select another option.

This coffee shop has been around for years way before Starbucks was ever heard of. They have a nice selection of coffees and teas and plenty of goodies to munch on. There's a few locations throughout the city in New Haven and they're all just as good.

Simply the best coffee in Connecticut. Iced French roast is as good as it gets in the summer time. Try the special and super special roast hot coffees in the winter. Prompt friendly service. Great locations. Far less annoying customers than Starbucks and much better coffee.

Seattle has Starbucks, Boston has Dunkin Donuts, and New Haven has Willoughby's. There are two locations one on the corner of Church and Grove the other at Yale School of Architecture. The coffee is pretty good they a large selection of coffee roasts, teas, frappés, etc. and like Starbucks they have a self serve station. They also grind coffee on the premise for sale, coffee from Central America, South America, Caribbean, etc. They also sell baked goods that well with your beverage, such as scones. The atmosphere is of a Starbucks but with better light, Starbucks lighting tend to be dim. Yale students and hipsters are usually tend to be folks that go to Willoughby's. Overall I am a coffee drinking machine, and Willoughby's doesn't disappoint, there selection and great customer service has me going weekly to enjoy.
