We were seated in a booth in the main area of the restaurant. We arrived early, and within the half-hour, the restaurant was pretty much full. It's a small restaurant with a covered porch area adjacent to the main bar-dining room- that porch area opens up when the weather gets nice. We ordered a California BLT and a special of Grilled Swordfish. The entrees come with a nice salad with fresh greens and vegetables. The balsamic vinaigrette is served on the side. The California BLT was a hearty sandwich on nicely toasted bread, with crisp bacon and avocado. It was a sheer delight brimming with flavor. The Swordfish special included a sticky fried rice with nuts and grilled asparagus with an aioli. The fish was perfectly grilled, as was the asparagus, and the sticky-fried rice-nut medley was sheer delight to eat- all in a nicely presented dish. We were glad we finally decided to have dinner here. Those on a budget need only look at the variety of sandwiches, all enticing looking, or the appetizers. There is a wine and beer bar, and lone diners can actually eat at that bar. Service is friendly and professional. My only quip about South Lane bistro is I wish they served lunch!
