We were driving up from Manhattan and wanted someplace near Main Street that was good and casual. Reviews brought us to Elm Street Oyster House. We had reservations for 3:30pm, which is out typical Sunday lunch. At many restaurants we get left out when the kitchen is closed between lunch and dinner. Elm Street Oyster House was perfect. Only one other party was there when we arrived. By halfway through our meal the dining room was full.

ESOH had a good selection of main stream oysters, both east and west coast - Blue Point, Wellfleet, Kumamoto, We were delighted that bottles were half price on Sunday, so we matched the oysters with a pleasing white burgundy.

The bread and plump breadsticks served together with olive and garlic tied us over until the oysters arrived. Then we had delicious fresh salmon, a chopped iceberg wedge with blue cheese, bacons and onions and a tasty New England clam chowder.

We'd planned on a light meal. But how we could resist dessert? The molten chocolate cake was delicious, served with mounds of whipped cream on the side. The bowls of ice cream were plentiful. And coffee capped off the meal for the drive home.

Service was outstanding! Our waiter was also able to accommodate the multiple languages in our dining group. He checked back with us often. The entire staff thanked us as we left. We'll add this to our go-to spots in Greenwich.

Swordfish as good as it can be. Art work. With an addictive sauce on the side. Tasty west coast oysters. Bay scallops appetizer perfectly and barely cooked in brown butter. good wine list. pricey but worth it.

We have been here 4 times. First time in 2010 was great, and then each experience after than has been worse than the one before. We went on a Tuesday night in early October. The service was poor and so was the food. We were served the wrong wine but that wasn't the problem. The shrimp cocktail was rubbery and their cocktail sauce was bitter. I asked for extra horseradish but never came. The entrees were subpar as well. Maybe it was because it was a Tuesday night but this was the third experience in which we received disappointing service and food. I get the sense that the owners are cutting corners on quality. It will probably be at least 2 years before we try this place again. At one point - likely in the mid 2000's - this place was a great place with creative and high quality dishes. Now - the menu is quite tired and the quality is no longer there. Hopefully, they get their act together as there are few creative seafood places in the Greenwich area (with Coast and Saltaire being two competitors).

This is a "go to" place for fish (plain or imaginative) in an unassuming restaurant in Greenwich CT. I would make a reservation if you are aiming for the dinner hour, The menu can easily satisfy anyone look for fish. There is one (just one) meat dish on the menu. Over the years we have roamed the entire menu and have never been disappointed. I have one favorite dish --the fried cod. There is an extensive wine list so you won't go dry.

This is a small restaurant in Greenwich. It can get a bit noisy when crowded. The seafood is outstanding, along with the service. I ate the shrimps with the scampi sauce (olive oil, garlic, white wine). They were excellent. I started with the crab cakes, which were very good. My wife had the black grouper with the cuban sauce. Service was excellent. They also have a very good wine list.
