We stayed in Building D, unit 6084, Condo Corridor, and the owner, Denney, was exceptionally helpful before and during our vacation to assure that our stay was pleasant.
It is a beautifully decorated and up to date Studio, with full Kitchen and Bath, Dining area, Balcony, Murphy bed and sofa bed, fireplace. Though it can sleep four, we only were a party of two and found it very comfortable. The mattress on the Murphy bed was comfortable, we did not try the pull out sofa, so can’t comment, but the sofa was great for relaxing and watching a movie. The condo was clean, and fully stocked with linens, dishes etc. as expected. The full kitchen had pots/pans and utensils making it easy to prepare food if one desired. In our case the owner also provided “emergency” toiletries should something have been forgotten, coffee, filters, creamer, and other convenience items for guests, making for a truly pleasurable stay. Other conveniences included a humidifier, boot tray and outlet for boot dryers, abundant outlets for charging portable electronics, Wifi, DVD player, Cable TV, and a selection of books and DVD’s for entertainment. There are also two ski boot benches and boot trays, making it easy to put on boots before departing for the locker area. There are also boot benches in the lockers if one prefers to wear street shoes down to that area.
Access to all common areas and garage is via a keypad code, room is also a code, so it took a few times to memorize and get accustomed to the process, and the number of doors with coded access seemed inconvenient at times, but the need for this type of accessibility is understood. The garage area was convenient to unload our luggage and get it up to the unit via elevator, but there are limited parking spaces and I expect difficult to get one in high season. We also enjoyed the hot tubs (there are two) and viewed the pool and exercise rooms that appeared to be well maintained. The hot tubs are in a different building, a short walk away, but access is all indoors by using the sky bridge on the 5th floor to the other building and then down to the first floor lockers and out to pool area.
The location of the unit was very close to the ski locker area and ski in/out access bridge. Had a spectacular view of the mountain out our windows and from the balcony, so we could see conditions in the morning before we left. We simply went down the stairs a few steps outside our door, grabbed our skis from locker area (ski locks provided for use in unit), and were a few yards away from the corridor between Mary Jane base and Winter Park base. The corridor run was groomed every night, making it convenient to ski down to the Winter Park base area and grab a cup of coffee before the lifts opened.
The Winter Park Village area can also be accessed by bus, and there is free local service around the resort and connections to the town of Winter Park as well. The walk to the village is a little more than half a mile, and we found it to be a pleasant walk, but be sure to take a flashlight as it can be very dark in the evening. The return walk is uphill, and unless acclimated to the thin air, you may find yourself breathing like a runner at the end of a marathon.
Overall, we had a great few days there, and look forward to returning to Winter Park and would certainly rent this unit again if available and recommend to friends and family!
This condo is clean, comfortable, and has everything you need!
The owner is very accommodating and informative.
